Jonathan Albaladejo (Calf) and Jesus Montero (Groin) Leave Game With Injuries
Both Jesus Montero and Jonathan Albaladejo left yesterday’s game with an injury. Montero went 1-for-1 on the game, but he was pulled after suffering a strained right groin. Montero took over behind the plate in the eighth inning, and he attempted to block a wild pitch and his knee got caught in the dirt. He limped off the field yesterday, which wasn’t a good sign.
Montero was later examined by Gene Monahan, and he said that he would surely miss a few games, if not more. It isn’t a serious injury, but they need to make sure he doesn’t aggravate it.

Jonathan Albaladejo had to leave the game in the third inning after he was hit in the calf by a batted ball. Joe Girardi had a small discussion with him as he walked back to the mound, but they decided to pull him. Albaladejo said he felt fine, but they needed to take precautionary measures.
These minor injuries in spring training aren’t a good sign, but they shouldn’t take these guys out for extended periods of time. We definitely don’t want a repeat of last year.
