Paul Heyman's Alliance with CM Punk Is Perfect Move for WWE
As great as Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are as a tandem in WWE, the possibilities for a CM Punk-Heyman alliance are endless.
There have been rumblings about Heyman and Punk pushing to work together for at least a month. Monday night was the start of a relationship that everyone knows goes all the way back to when Punk first started with WWE.
It was, as Punk stated in his memorable Raw promo a year ago, Heyman who recommended Punk to WWE and helped him get his start with the company. In an era where WWE doesn't usually try alliances and managers with its top stars, this is one that has potential.

For Punk, this will help validate his claim to being the biggest heel in the company. His gimmick right now is the champion who gets no respect, either because he is never in main events or John Cena is always the one who is used to promote the company.
But Punk alone isn't enough to validate himself as an evil heel. That's not to say he is bad in the role—we have sufficient evidence to the contrary that he an extremely effective heel. But he needed something else to put him over the top.
The reveal that Heyman was driving Punk's car brings a whole new world for the WWE champion.
As for Heyman, it was the right move to put him in an alliance with someone like Punk. As much as we all love what he can do with Lesnar, there is no way that Lesnar would be around enough to make Heyman really matter.
Getting Heyman in league with the WWE championship gives the company a bit of an outsider angle to run with.
Punk is about as far away from a traditional WWE star as anyone can get. He does not have the huge muscular physique, and his tattoos and piercings make him difficult to market to a huge mainstream audience.
Heyman was brought into WWE when the company bought ECW years ago but he has been responsible for many unique talents getting a shot in WWE who otherwise wouldn't have.
Since there is already a built-in foundation between Punk and Heyman, it makes the story that much easier to tell. These are two men who hate the traditional WWE style and want it to change. Both men are on a quest for respect.
Now, it appears, they will be given the chance to get what they want as a tandem.
