Miami Dolphins: The Tiring Questions of the Wide Receiver Corps
There is no way to sugarcoat it. It may be an obvious assumption that any Dolphins fan will certainly agree with. It is clearly an incredibly pressing matter that just cannot be ignored.
The wide receiver situation in Miami is a serious problem.
With rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill under center, new head coach Joe Philbin knows that the best way to ease the transition of what the organization hopes to be the quarterback of the future is to provide valuable receiving options.

However, Tannehill is not as fortunate as some of his counterparts like Andrew Luck in Indianapolis or even the marginal corps for Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.
In South Beach, this is a simple reality. Tannehill is being thrown into the melting pot in a Week 1 matchup against the formidable offense of the Houston Texans.
In a game where Miami will presumably have to play catch-up and the young arm from Texas A&M will see plenty of passing opportunities, Tannehill does not have a receiving weapon he can necessarily rely on.
Brandon Marshall has been traded. His fellow Aggie Jeff Fuller has been cut. Roberto Wallace joined him. Tannehill will be looking to receivers like Davone Bess, Legedu Naanee and Brian Hartline as the “veterans” of a young receiving corps. Things are not pretty for Tannehill.
The Dolphins did recently bring in former Redskins receiver and recent addition to the waiver wire Anthony Armstrong to lighten things up. Armstrong had an impressive campaign in his rookie season with an 800-yard year, but he really fell off the map last season.
New faces like Rishard Matthews and Michael Egnew hope to emerge as viable options, as well as Marlon Moore and Charles Clay, who look to make a name for themselves this season.
At this point, no one has not even the slightest idea of how the receiving situation will turn out. The question remains is who will catch balls for the Dolphins this season.
