Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Loic Remy Is Next Target for Spurs
Tottenham isn't happy with one world-class Frenchman for their new-look squad. In fact, the closer Andre Villas-Boas gets to the transfer window being shut, the more greedy he gets.
And that's quite alright by just about everyone in North London.
Mere hours after ESPN stated that Spurs are within arm's length of agreeing to a £12 million deal to sign France international keeper Hugo Lloris from Lyon, Goal.com has reported that the next transfer target is Marseille striker Loic Remy.

After being frustrated by Shakhtar Donetsk in their unwillingness to let go of Brazilian forward Willian—who can blame them?—Tottenham has turned their attention back to long-standing target Remy and will reportedly put in a bid to Marseille of around £15 million.
If you'll remember, former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp reportedly tried signing Remy during last January's transfer window, but the transfer stalled and Marseille kept their prized striker.
But hope springs eternal at White Hart Lane, and Villas-Boas is apparently ready to do whatever it takes to get some goal-scorers on the pitch.
He could do far, far worse than Remy.
The 25-year-old striker has scored no fewer than 11 times every season going back to 2008. He's earned an average of 0.41 goals per match during his career—an incredible feat that would put him at the top of Tottenham's current squad—and he's had significant Champions League experience, appearing in 16 matches over the last two seasons.
His six-foot frame would be a great asset in the air, and his ability to cut inside makes him a danger on the counter-attack.
Not only that, but his proficiency at scoring goals has made him an easy target for midfielders and defenders to bring down, often illegally. If one or both opposing centre-backs receive yellow cards in the first 30 minutes, it's going to make them a lot less likely to challenge for the rest of the match for fear of being shown red, opening up the heart of the defense to any and all of Tottenham's attacks on offense.
Will Villas-Boas be able to finish the deal before midnight on Friday, August 31? Do you even want Villas-Boas to finish the deal?
