Tim Tebow: Don't Put Any Stock in Preseason Performance
If New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow once again made you cringe with his performance on Sunday night, don't worry. You won't have to see something like that again.
It's simply not how the Jets will use the enigmatic QB.
Love Tebow or hate him, there's no denying his inability to make accurate throws with consistency. That was once again apparent on Sunday night against the Carolina Panthers. Even Skip Bayless would agree with that.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Well, probably not.
But that's fine. That's not what he's in the Big Apple for. He's there to bring passion and energy, be a good teammate and, most importantly, run the wildcat. Not throw the ball.
On Sunday night, Tebow threw 14 passes, broke out of the pocket for five runs and was sacked multiple times. That means he dropped back to pass over 20 times and ran the wildcat zero times.
So, while the four completions for 55 yards, 10 incompletions, most of them ugly, and what should have been more than one interception likely all disgusted you, know that it doesn't matter. It's not Tebow's role.
It's no secret that you should put little worth in the preseason, and that was ever apparent in New York on Sunday. The Jets, just like any team, aren't going to give away their entire playbook. They need to practice certain formations and what not, sure, but teams just don't showcase their entire offense in a game that doesn't matter.
That's why Tebow's involvement in the offense on Sunday was near laughable. In fact, it was pretty much the exact opposite of what he'll bring to the regular season.
If you find yourself freaking out about Tebow's performance, remember that it's the preseason. Zero stock should be put in what he put forth on the field.
As far as the rest of the offense goes, well that's a different story.
