Little League World Series 2012: Previewing Day 6 Action
The schedule lightens up for Day 6 of the Little League World Series, but there are two huge games in the loser's bracket, and a final send off for the boys from Uganda—the first team from Africa to participate in this tournament.
This tournament has been packed with drama and thrilling finishes, and Day 6 isn't likely to be any different.
Check out the schedule for the day's action.
Little League World Series for Tuesday, August 21
Consolation Game: MEA vs. Northwest at 1 p.m. ET
Uganda was bounced from this tournament after losing their first two games by a combined score of 21-3, but that doesn't change the fact that their appearance here can be called anything but a success.
Hopefully this marks the beginning of a long tradition of teams from Africa participating in this event, and all the subsequent teams can look back on this squad as the one that paved the way.
Game 21: Caribbean vs. Mexico
After losing their opener 13-9 to Canada, Mexico has been playing brilliantly. They enter this contest fresh off a 4-3 win off of traditional powerhouse Asia-Pacific.
This team has power at the plate and solid pitching. They are going to need it if they are going to get past the Caribbean.
The Caribbean boys lost their opener 7-0 to Japan, but have righted the ship and enter this game off of a 4-3 victory over Canada. This should be a fantastic game.
Game 22: West vs. New England
The day's final game has the potential to be a classic. Both of these teams have the talent to win it all, and both enter this game off a dramatic victory.
The West took down the Mid-Atlantic team in extra innings when Danny Marzo blasted a walk-off shot in the eighth to give his team a 5-4 win.
Meanwhile, New England won by the relatively easy margin of 4-0, but they did so off a no-hitter by Will Lucas, who only walked one and struck out 13.
