Little League World Series Schedule: TV and Live Stream Info for Sunday's Action

Benjamin KleinJun 7, 2018

It’s Day 4 from Williamsport, Pa., and today we’ll get to watch the teams with the best chance to win the 2012 Little League World Series. All eight teams who play on Sunday won their opening round matchups and will look to become 2-0 and get on the fast track towards the United States or International Championship games.

Yesterday, four elimination games were played and now there are only 12 teams who are still in contention. Four teams will lose their first game of the tournament on Sunday, but that doesn’t eliminate them just yet. A team can still win the Little League World Series with a loss on their resume, it just means that every game is “win or go home” from thereon out.

The eight teams that will play on Sunday are the best we’ve seen thus far and each game could go either way. Here’s who will be playing, how you can watch, and what to look for in each matchup from the winner’s bracket:

Game 13: Canada vs. Latin America, Volunteer, 12:00 p.m. (ESPN2 and ESPN3)

Canada provided us with the first upset of the tournament, defeating Mexico in the opening round. Will they be able to continue their success against Panama?

The Latin American champions have a very good pitching staff that took down the kids from Uganda with ease. Panama also has a few dangerous bats in the heart of their lineup, led by James Gonzalez who had three hits and scored twice in the opener. He also could be on the mound for Latin America on Sunday.

Canada got lucky once, but Panama will make sure it doesn’t happen twice.

Game 14: West vs. Southeast, Lamade, 2:00 p.m. (ABC, ESPN3 and ESPN3D)

The first United States winner’s bracket matchup features two very good teams in California and Tennessee.

The Southeastern champions didn’t have any issues in their first game against Nebraska. Brock Myers is their leader on the mound and at the plate and will play a huge role in how far this team can go.

On the other side of the field there’s Bradley Smith, who has similar traits to Myers. Smith is a force as a pitcher and also went 4-for-4 against Connecticut. I like Tennessee’s chances in this one just because their offense seems more explosive.

Game 15: Southwest vs. Great Lakes, Volunteer, 5:00 p.m. (ESPN and ESPN3)

Sunday’s third matchup is between two teams that didn’t have huge run totals and won relatively close games in the opening round.

Texas, the Southwest champions, defeated New Jersey by three runs whereas Indiana, the Great Lakes champions, shutout Nebraska, but only scored four runs. This will be a very close game for sure. I’m a little hesitant on Texas’ pitching staff since Tyler Vitt will be unavailable, but they still have a couple of good hitters.

In the end, though, Indiana will be the team who stays undefeated through Sunday’s games.

Game 16: Japan vs. Asia Pacific, Lamade, 7:00 p.m. (ESPN, ESPN3 and ESPN3D)

Mark my words; this will be a preview of the International Championship Game.

Japan and Chinese Taipei are clearly the two best teams on the International side of the bracket as each features dominant pitching and great hitting. If you watched either of their opening round games, you should know what I’m talking about. Even though both teams won with ease, Japan stood out much more than the Asia-Pacific champions.

The Japanese are a force to be reckoned with and could be the best team in Williamsport.
