Denver Broncos Should Stick With 4-3 Defense
Moving to the 3-4 defense seems like a great idea, considering we have defensive lineman that can switch over to linebacker such as Elvis Dumervil, Jarvis Moss, and Tim Crowder.
But where does that lead to the defensive line?
They have absolutely no one playing the defensive end position or the defensive tackle position if they were to switch to the 3-4 scheme.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Maybe Marcus Thomas could play some defensive end but hes not much of a pass rusher, and still hasn't proven he can stop the run. By switching to the 3-4 scheme this will cause more problems and will cost Denver more money on players.
Here's my opinion—don't go towards the 3-4 scheme.
Yeah they didnt do so well the last four or fuve years playing the 4-3 scheme, but just staying put will save Denver a lot more money and maybe even a little prize possession, Albert Haynesworth—a complete monster at the line and basically the most dangerous defensive tackle that anyone has ever seen in a long, long time.
Denver, with their salary cap at about $50 million (highest in the NFL), could possibly send a nice expensive contract to Albert Haynesworth, but first, they have other priorities: Extending Brandon Marshall's, Tony Sheffler's, Elvis Dumervil's, Chris Kuper's, and Casey Wiegman's contracts. Basically, they will have nice deals after their accomplishments during their years with Denver.
However, with Sheffler being injured alot latley, he will most likely get a average deal. With Wiegman's age (not to mention he was about to retire this year), he will receive a little amount of money.
Dumervil has shown he can become Denver's next great pass rusher, he should get a reasonable agreement. Kuper has shown he can be an outstanding guard, he still needs to improve a bit more on pass blocking and run blocking. And last but not least, Brandon Marshall. He should get a decent amount of money considering he led the league in most dropped passes.
So with all that taken care of, Denver should now pursue Albert Haynesworth. He is an incredible threat and should help Denver become a great run stopping team.
Not only should they pursue Albert, but they should also grab James Sanders from New England. He has great passion of the game and knows what it takes to win games. Along from that, they should also grab a decent, but young cornerback. Someone like McFadden or Bartell. By doing all this, they should have a dominant defense, for now.
Basically, Denver should be about done in the free agent market, maybe grab a few more players or so on. In the draft they have nine picks, that is enough picks to trade up a few times during the draft period.
To help them complete there dominant run defense, they should trade up a bit to grab B.J. Raji—a huge threat who is known to be the next Casey Hampton, Jamal Williams, Pat Williams, etc. He had currently put weight on so that he can help teams with the 3-4 defensive scheme, but considering that weight and so much dominance on a 4-3 defensive scheme will make a bigger impact on the run defense.
Later in the draft, drafting a running back like Shonn Greene or Andre Brown should complete the Broncos offense and maybe even another future wide receiver towards the end.
All in all, Denver has already a great linebacking corp, signing a good safety and cornerback should complete a good defensive back corp, and the line will be outstanding with Dumervil, Haynesworth, Raji, and still hope with Moss.
