Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Report: Emmanuel Adebayor Set for Spurs Deal
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor—who was on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season—looks set to complete a deal with the North London club over the summer transfer window.
According to latest reports, the English Premier League champions believe they are close to a deal with Andre Villas-Boas' men for the Togo striker, who has fallen too far down the pecking order at the Etihad to be of any real assistance to Roberto Mancini.

"Manchester City believe they are close to brokering a compromise deal that will see Emmanuel Adebayor leave for Tottenham at last.
City are ready to subsidise the Togo striker’s wages at White Hart Lane for the next two seasons, and will hand him a significant chunk of the £5 million fee as a pay-off.
It means the champions will have to write off almost all the £25m they paid Arsenal for Adebayor three years ago.
City agreed to sell him in a cut-price deal after he spent last season on loan at Spurs. But that move was blocked when Adebayor demanded his share of the fee because he would have to take a cut on the £170,000-a-week wages he earns at the Etihad.
Now City will help Spurs pay his salary and will also hand Adebayor most of the fee.

The news comes as another excellent bit of information for Tottenham, who have had arguably the strongest summer transfer window out of the 20 current English Premier League clubs.
After retaining star players Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart for next season, the club have added Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen as well as Gylfi Sigurdsson—and could well be adding a third star signing to their transfer portfolio.
Throw in the addition of former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas and the likelihood that they will either keep Luka Modric or receive a significant financial payment for him, and you'd have to say that this has been a largely successful summer for the North London club.
In just 32 Premier League appearances last season (per WhoScored), Adebayor netted 17 goals and 11 assists for Spurs and would be a great signing for the club as they seek to win back qualification for the UEFA Champions League by finishing in the top four in the English domestic league.
