WWE Top 5 Worst of the Week: Sheamus, Kelly Kelly and More!
We're on the third week of three-hour Raws, and getting closer to the biggest show of the summer.
Things are starting to heat up with the CM Punk and the Triple-H/Lesnar story lines, but it wasn't all good on WWE programming this week.
In fact, some of it was downright bad.
During the week, we watched some real life grand theft auto, the triumphant return of a top Diva and Tout figuring into not one, but two story lines on Raw!
Overall, it was another zany seven days in the world of WWE.
But which moments were the worst? Lucky for you, that's what this list is for!
Here are the top-five Worst WWE Moments of the week (August 5 -11).
5: Kelly Kelly's Return
1 of 5Welcome back Kelly Kelly, it sounds like 25 to 30 people missed you!
It says a lot about WWE's Divas division when their most popular in-ring wrestler returns to such an apathetic response.
It's not all Kelly's fault though, as she has been eclipsed in popularity during her absence by AJ.
Still, things aren't looking bright for the division.
Kelly beat Eve on her first night back, and WWE is unlikely to do a babyface vs. babyface feud with her against Layla. That means there probably won't be too much for her to do, except some quick tag matches and perhaps a wacky backstage skit or two.
With Kharma gone, Sara Del Ray yet to debut and Beth Phoenix being booked so poorly, who is there to get excited about Kelly feuding with?
4: Kane, Mysterio Beat the Miz
2 of 5There had been rumors that The Miz was going to get a real push this time around.
No, seriously.
Instead, Miz lost his first two matches back, won the Intercontinental title and then lost to Kane cleanly in under four minutes. Later that week on Smackdown, he again took the three count against Rey Mysterio.
Two men who are 45 and 37, (Kane and Mysterio respectively) beat a 31-year-old in another example of WWE building that bridge towards the future.
These are two matches that just shouldn't have been booked. If WWE wants to protect Kane and Mysterio, then don't do the match.
Instead, they damaged their title and one of their younger stars.
In five years, Kane will not be wrestling full time, it's highly doubtful Mysterio will either. Miz could be a top talent for years, but WWE seem to have no idea what to do with him.
Also, why are there so many non-title matches anyway?
If Kane won a non-title match, then he should get a title match against Miz. Instead, Mysterio got a match against him, and it's doubtful that anything will come from it.
If neither care enough about the Intercontinental title, then what's the point of even having it?
3: Sheamus' Joy Ride
3 of 5Did he steal his car or was it a joyride?
This was the topic that Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler argued about throughout the night.
No Lawler, you can't take someone's car without their permission, whether you dislike them or not.
Another lousy part of this was that WWE basically replayed it in its entirety twice more during the night, and had to even bring in Tout!
I miss the days when a cameraman would have just gone with the superstar on the road. We'd get a clearer image, better audio and avoid the annoying plug!
Appealing to eight-year-olds everywhere, Sheamus also apologized for the smell in the car and that Mexican food runs right through him.
I'm not sure I understand that...does that mean he crapped his pants in the car? Why would he admit this? Couldn't he find a bathroom?
Anyway...
The real crime committed this night was WWE making us watch a crappy (pun somewhat intended?) storyline.
2: Giving Away Bryan vs. Cena
4 of 5John Cena and Daniel Bryan have come a long way since their last matchup.
With Raw going to three-hour shows, WWE probably felt they need big main event matchups every week to keep the crowds interested.
They shouldn't be giving away potential pay-per-view main events though.
With so few top main stars, WWE gave away two pay-per-view worthy matches on Raw alone. Randy Orton vs. The Big Show and Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena.
What did WWE get out of Bryan and Cena's first Raw match?
They could have held off, and built this up as the main event of a major show.
The match was rushed onto the air, with no advanced hype and fans saw Bryan lose cleanly again.
They're killing their pay-per-view business by giving us big matches. Really, how many dream matches are even left now?
1: Tout Wins a Match
5 of 5WWE has invested $5 million in Tout.
This makes Tout the highest-paid wrestler on the roster.
There's been a lot of hype about this Tout character lately, we've seen a bunch of vignettes from him that focused on annoying people talking about things we've just seen on WWE.
But it was clear, he wasn't getting over.
WWE felt it was time to get some money out of that investment.
Tout won a match WWE match before Brock Lesnar did.
When Chris Jericho started to film Dolph Ziggler in his match against Alex Riley, Tout interfered and helped take Ziggler down.
It was epic. Epically stupid. But epic nonetheless.
