Brazil vs. Mexico: Neymar and Top Players to Watch in Epic Gold Medal Showdown
Saturday's men's soccer gold medal match between Brazil and Mexico will feature some of the world's top young stars that fans won't want to miss.
Brazil has to be the favorite going in, based on the fact that it has won all five of its matches and scored at least three goals in each at the Games thus far.
Regardless of the result, though, fans are in for a treat on Saturday.
Here we take a look at the top players to watch in the men's gold medal match from London.
Neymar
The Brazilian soccer icon has already been compared to Lionel Messi at age 20, and is becoming one of the more popular soccer stars in the world thanks to his unique look and flashy game. Fans tuning into Saturday's gold medal match will have a hard time missing Neymar.
Neymar has three goals through Brazil's first five matches at the Olympics and will add to his total against Mexico if his teammates can feed him the ball in the right places. Neymar has scored 42 goals in 88 appearances with his current Brazilian club, Santos.
Giovani dos Santos
The 23-year-old sensation has scored three brilliant goals for the Mexicans so far at the London Games, and will be major threat to score more against Brazil on Saturday.
The Mexican star has experience playing alongside the world's best with Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, so he has plenty of big-game experience.
Dos Santos is without question the Mexico's best forward and scoring option. With that said, look for No. 10 to be on the ball and making plays throughout the gold medal match.
Leandro Damiao
No player on the men's side has scored more goals than Brazil's Leandro Damiao at the 2012 Games. Damiao has six goals in just four matches and will no doubt be the guy Brazil calls upon on Saturday to produce fireworks up front.
Damiao has 24 goals in 58 career appearances with Brazilian club Internacional dating back to 2010.
Damiao is only 23 years old, but is growing before our eyes this summer as one of the more lethal scoring threats in the game. If Brazil is going to win a shootout with Mexico, it will need Damiao to be on the very top of his game on Saturday.
