PGA Championship TV Schedule 2012: Complete Guide to Round 2
Tiger Woods had a solid first round at the PGA Championship. His opening round three-under 69 has him in the hunt early, but not near the top of the leaderboard. It may be a good place to be, as he certainly doesn't want to peak too soon.
Ideally, a player wants to play his best round on Sunday. That is something that has been difficult for Tiger to do in majors this year.
He hasn't saved his best for last in any of the big ones in 2012.
At the Masters, US Open and The Open Championship, Woods' best round was the first. He certainly will be looking to buck that trend at the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island. If he is able to improve on the 69 he shot today—barring a horrible round—he'll be in it until the end.
You can catch the most comprehensive coverage of the Round 2 action via live stream. It is available at PGA.com. The coverage begins at 7 AM ET.
Here are two other notable players to watch in Round 2:
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy has built on his impressive performance at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. He shot a solid five-under 67 on Thursday, and he's battling for the top spot on the leaderboard.
Unless he has a signature Rory meltdown, he should be tough throughout.
John Daly
Yes he's still hanging around, and he played very well on Thursday. He shot a four-under 68, but can he maintain this level of play to be a factor through three more rounds?
His best finish this year was 12th, and that came at the Greenbrier Classic in July.
It would be an interesting story to see him in contention on Sunday. He won the PGA Championship 21 years ago, and it would be an amazing feat if he could maintain, and win this tournament again.
