Olympic Results 2012: Gymnastics Day 8 Results, Medal Winners & Analysis
Gabby Douglas’ disappointing last-place finish headlined a day filled with a lot of exciting gymnastics action.
How did things end up?
After Douglas’ mistake, did Great Britain’s Elizabeth Weddle capitalize and win the gold in front of her home-country fans? Or was it all-around standout Viktoria Komova who came out on top of the uneven bars competition?
Read on to find out all the exciting results from Day 8 of the men’s and women’s gymnastics competition.
Women’s Uneven Bars
The women’s uneven bars saw the USA’s Gabby Douglas make her first mistake. It may not have mattered, though, as Russian Aliya Mustafina rectified her earlier mistakes in the Games and put on a show in this one.
He Kexin, a gymnast from China’s 2008 gold-medal team, finished with a silver medal after a valiant effort.
The bronze medal went to Beth Tweddle, the best of the female gymnasts from Great Britain, winning her first medal in the event.
