Olympics 2012 Schedule: Must-See Events on Day 4 from London
One of the great things about having the Olympics going on is that there are always going to be things happening that are worth paying attention to. We are only three days into the Games with no shortage of stories and rivalries to keep an eye on.
Since there is so much happening in London, we wanted to present you with a way to work your schedule around the biggest events and superstars you need to see.
Here is a look at what you need to watch on Day 4 in London.
Men's Basketball: USA vs. Tunisia (NBC Sports Network, 5:15 p.m. ET)
OK, it may not be the glamorous, exciting matchup that will test the mettle of Team USA, but LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, et al. on the court at the same time is still must-see TV.
Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, and Team USA are going to command all sorts of attention just by virtue of having so many of the best NBA players on the roster.
We are always going to watch Team USA and expect dominance. That may not always happen, but it is imperative we see them play to make sure our gold-medal dreams don't go up in smoke.
Women's Soccer: USA vs. North Korea (NBC Sports Network, 12:15 p.m. ET)
Even with Hope Solo running her mouth about Brandi Chastain's "criticism," if you want to call it that, there are still reasons to keep watching the United States women for their work on the field (via USA Today).
North Korea are not the biggest obstacle standing in the way of the United States women on their quest for gold. There are, however, a few holes that the U.S. have to fix if they want to win big in London.
There have been lackadaisical moments, particularly on defense, when the U.S. leave themselves exposed. It hasn't hurt yet, partly because of the opponents, but things can get sticky in a hurry if they aren't fixed.
Weightlifting (MSNBC, 5:30 p.m. ET)
Since we do watch the Olympics to see athletes win medals, it would be foolish not to include one of the day's few medal events.
Weightlifting is not the biggest event at the Olympics, though the amazing feats of strength all these athletes pull off is spectacular to watch.
Today's medal events include the men's 152 pounds and women's 139 pounds. The name to watch is Zhang Guozheng, who has won gold at the last two Olympics in the 152-pound weight class.
