Olympic Swimming TV Schedule 2012: Where and When to Catch Day 3 Action

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

If there has been one singular event that has taken over the 2012 London Olympics thus far, it would be swimming. We all expected the action in the pool to be fierce, intense and surprising, but after just two days it has been even better than anyone could have predicted.

As we reach the third day of competition in London, things will get very intense with a nearly constant stream of swimming that will keep you on the edge of your seat from dawn until dusk.

Instead of having to scour the web to find a schedule and television listing for all the swimming action, we present to you a full look at what is taking place on Day 3 and where you can tune in to see it.

Americans To Watch For

Missy Franklin

Today is the first busy day for Franklin, who will be looking to earn her first gold medal of these games in the 100-meter backstroke.

In addition to that event, Franklin will be qualifying in the 200-meter freestyle. If she wants to make her mark on these Olympics, this is the day where she has to take charge.

Michael Phelps

Not that you need a reason to watch Phelps, because he is the most recognizable American in London, but there seems to be something off with him right now. Perhaps it is because we have put such ridiculously high expectations on him this year and anything less than a world record in every event, even just a qualifying heat, is a disappointment.

Phelps will be taking part in the 200-meter butterfly qualifying heats this afternoon.
