Tottenham vs. Liverpool: Reds Closing the Gap with Spurs After Another Tie
For the second straight time that these two clubs have met, Liverpool and Tottenham finished with a 0-0 tie in their match on American soil in Baltimore, Maryland.
In their last meeting back in February, these two squads also tied in a scoreless match.
While the last two results of these team's matches aren't exactly impressive by any means, the Reds appear to be closing the gap between them and their more talented opponent.

The Spurs proved their superiority to the Reds after Tottenham finished fourth in the English Premier League. Liverpool wasn't as successful, and instead, they had their worst showing in club history after an eighth-place finish.
Liverpool owns the overall advantage in the history of their meetings with Tottenham. The Reds have enjoyed 73 wins while the Spurs have won only 46 matches. Forty-one of their matches have resulted in a draw.
However, in their previous three meetings before the two matches this year, Tottenham was the victor over Liverpool in each of them. It appeared the Spurs finally had a stranglehold on this series, and they would begin to totally dominate their Saturday opponent for years to come.
However, based on their last two meetings, Liverpool seems to have other plans.
Thanks to a great defensive effort, Liverpool has been able to stifle Tottenham's dangerous offense, and the Reds seem to have the Spurs attack under control. Tottenham managed just eight shots against Liverpool in their Saturday exhibition with only one on goal.
That type of anemic offense from Tottenham is a far cry from their past three wins over Liverpool which saw the Spurs score a combined total of eight goals.
If Liverpool wishes to surpass their foes, their offense must improve drastically.
Not only have they been shut out in the previous two matches, the Reds haven't been able to muster up much of an offensive attack at all, and that has greatly alleviated the pressure on the Spurs defense. In the last five meetings combined between Liverpool and Tottenham—Saturday's match included—the Reds have scored one measly goal.
Make no mistake about it, Liverpool still has a mountain to climb before they are on the same level as Tottenham, but two ties in-a-row prove that the Reds are beginning to play to the Spurs level, and that's a great sign for this team's future in this year's English Premier League season.
