Michelle Beadle Olympics: What to Expect From NBC Personality in London
You wonโt be seeing any blooper clips with a lame joke attached from Michelle Beadle over the next two weeks.
The former ESPNโs SportsNation co-star will be in London for the 2012 Olympics as a member of the NBC staff in her first big gig for the new network.
While she wonโt be getting the TV time of Bob Costas, Alย Michaelsย and Dan Patrick, Beadle will be the face of the coverage on the NBC Sports Network.
Formerly known as โVersus,โ the NBC Sports Network will provide 292.5 hours of coverage for U.S. sports in the Olympics. While Beadle obviously wonโt be anchoring all 292.5 hours, her main hosting duties will be during the overnight and morning hours according to the Miami Herald. The central hours to tune in will be from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
The focus of the NBC Sports Network is on live events, regardless of when it airs in America. This will allow the spontaneous Beadle to use her wit and charm in a setting that calls for quick reaction.
This is the sort of role she can thrive in, and Iโm looking forward to hearing her instant analysis on niche sports. It should be interesting to see how she incorporates her bubbly personally into a setting that will have a hard news presentation at times.
Beadle also confirmed on the Dan Patrick Showย Friday that she'll be working with the Access Hollywood team as well. She didn't dive into the details, but you'd assume plenty of celebrity interviews will be on the slate.ย
Expect to see plenty of NBCโs newest star in a variety of roles over the next two weeks in the first big gig of Beadle's post-ESPN career. ย
