RAW 1000 Review
The WWE hyped the 1,000th episode of RAW for weeks and put all its eggs in that basket. While it could have been better in some respects, there is no denying that it was a great show which kicked off the era of three-hour RAWs in a positive way.
It was great seeing legends such as The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, The Undertaker and so many others, but there is no question that the highlight of the night was CM Punk's heel turn after his match against John Cena.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Was Turning Punk Heel the Right Move?
Some are still wondering whether or not Punk is actually heel, but it seems obvious to us. He neglected to help Cena when he was being attacked by Big Show, he hit The Rock with a clothesline and a GTS, and then Jerry "The King" Lawler declared that he had turned his back on the WWE Universe.
With all of that in mind, the true question is whether or not turning the company's No. 2 face is a logical move.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Stopping Punk's momentum as a face is definitely a risk, but the way he was turned was absolutely perfect, so his latest heel run should be a huge success. Punk had been told by Eve and Big Show in previous weeks that Cena, AJ and others were overshadowing him, so this turn obviously has everything to do with Punk wanting to step out from Cena's shadow.
It makes plenty of sense, since Cena has continued to main-event pay-per-views despite Punk's long reign with the WWE Championship.
The company is severely lacking when it comes to top heels, but has enough in terms of faces with Cena, Sheamus and Randy Orton when he returns, so Monday was the perfect time to flip Punk.

Tommaso Ciampa ROH Interview
Ring Rust Radio had yet another fantastic guest on the show, as ROH star Tommaso Ciampa talked about his experiences in the wrestling business.
Ciampa discussed what he hopes to accomplish in ROH, what he learned during his brief time in WWE and how he dealt with a bout of diverticulitis, which is the condition that put former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar on the shelf for months.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Ciampa Get the RRR Rub?
One is an accident, two is a trend, but ROH stars who have joined Ring Rust Radio over the past several months always seem to get a big push not long after.
Michael Elgin, Adam Cole and Mike Mondo are just a few examples, and Ciampa may be next on that list. He is scheduled to face rival Jay Lethal next month at Boiling Point, so that could be his opportunity.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Some may say that it's a coincidence, but the Ring Rust Radio crew has seen ROH stars bud far too often after coming on the show. We certainly have an eye for talent, and Ciampa is one of the finest young wrestlers in the company. He has yet to win his first title in ROH, but he has been in pursuit of the Television Championship for quite some time, so Cole may be next on his radar after Lethal.
When you consider how tough Ciampa is to hardly miss a beat after suffering from diverticulitis, it doesn't seem like anything can stop him. He may not receive as much attention as some of the top guys in ROH, but Ciampa has all the talent necessary to reach that level, and it may just be a matter of time before he does so.

TNA Tidbits
While TNA programming has generally been better in recent months, there are still far too many albatrosses in terms of wayward story lines. The angle involving A.J. Styles impregnating a drug addict is bad enough, but now TNA has introduced the Aces and Eights storyline, which is extremely repetitive and senseless.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Bad Is the Aces and Eights Storyline?
Some believe that Aces and Eights is interesting, but we're not quite sure how. For the past few weeks, the group has beaten down at least two wrestlers per night and yet they continue to gain access to the building.
Viewers are supposed to suspend disbelief when watching wrestling, but if a bunch of guys off the street infiltrated the arena and attacked wrestlers on a regular basis, then it stands to reason that someone might call the cops.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Aces and Eights hasn't quite reached the level of A.J. Styles in terms of pure stupidity, but it's lame nonetheless. Ring Rust Radio's own Donald Wood believes the stable is made up of wrestlers from TNA's Indian promotion, Ring Ka King.
That would include the likes of Harry Smith, Eugene, Luke Gallows, Chris Masters and other former WWE competitors. If that is the case, then this storyline will go from bad to worse.
Nobody is interested in seeing a stable full of mediocre talent, so it's tough to imagine where TNA is going with this one. Perhaps the creative team has a grand idea in mind that will blow us away, but recent history would suggest that isn't the case whatsoever.
