Wisconsin Football: Bret Bielema Says He Hopes Getting Married Makes Him Better
This offseason, one of the most eligible bachelors in Madison, Bret Bielema, decided to tie the knot.
Exactly nine weeks and two days into his marriage, Bielema told Bob Wolfey of The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that, "It's all good."
Bielema made his opening remarks at the 2012 Big Ten Media Days, and apparently, now 19 weeks and five days after saying "I do," things are still going well.
According to a tweet from Herb Gould of The Chicago Sun-Times, when asked about wedded bliss, the two-time Big Ten champion coach responded, "It's hopefully gonna make me a smarter and wiser and more mature coach."
This season, Bielema will need those "smarts," as he will add six new members to his coaching staff, including a new offensive coordinator.
The new coordinator will have a tall load, given that Wisconsin's former OC, and current coach of the Pittsburgh Panthers, Paul Chryst, led the conference's top scoring offense three years in a row.
Nevertheless, as new Badgers wide receiver coach Zach Azzanni remarked (via Wisconsin blog Bucky's Fifth Quarter), "Change is uncomfortable for people. Change involves risk."
Hopefully for Bielema and Badger fans, the new Mrs. Bielema will help the Badger coach to find a balance between the success he has known and the change he will have to accept.
