WWE Lucha Libre: Why Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara Is Inevitable
Both Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio made their returns to WWE television recently after suffering injuries, and both men have shown that their injuries have done little to slow them down.
Sin Cara was brought in by WWE in hopes that he would be the next Rey Mysterio, so the company would be prepared for when Rey eventually left or retired altogether.
That plan has not worked out so well.

WrestleMania Night 2 Full Recap 📝
Cara has been known to botch moves, and his character has virtually no depth since he never delivers promos and is not involved in any major feuds.
While Mysterio is a much bigger star in WWE, it only makes sense to eventually have them enter into a program that would see Rey pass the torch, so to speak.
The term "pass the torch" is used a lot in wrestling, but in this case, it is a lot more relevant. With the similarities between them, it is almost necessary for Rey to allow Sin Cara to take his place as WWE's masked hero.
Cara, while sometimes dangerous, is incredibly talented. It is adapting to the WWE style and WWE wrestlers that seems to have poured water on his metaphorical fire.
This is why Rey is the perfect choice. Rey is familiar with both the WWE and Lucha styles of wrestling, which would allow him to not only put on some amazing matches with Cara, but also provide some guidance.
Anyone with a chance to learn from someone with the amount of experience Rey Mysterio has would be wise to do so.
Sin Cara and Hunico failed to meet expectations during their feud, but the main reason for that was that the feud was not offered to fans as being worth the investment of their time, and Sin Cara suffered an injury before the program had concluded.
Why should we care about two guys who, when wearing the masks, never spoke? The feud was doomed from the start.
Hunico using a mic during his entrance following his loss of the Sin Cara mask did absolutely nothing to help his character, as he usually appears unsure of himself when speaking.
Sin Cara is lucky enough to not have to show his timidness, if he has any, due to the fact that his entire face is covered with his mask.
If WWE were to enter Cara into a program with Mysterio, it would either have to make him start talking or have him speak Spanish with some kind of interpreter/manager to tell us what he is saying.
Not since Rey feuded with Chavo have we seen an extended program between two masters of the Lucha Libre style, and it is time WWE embraced one of the methods that initially helped WCW defeat it.
Call it a spot-fest if you like, but nobody would want to miss a minute of a match like this, simply because we could end up missing something really amazing.
