WWE Money in the Bank 2012 Results: Daniel Bryan's Loss Will End Main-Event Push
For Daniel Bryan, any hopes he had of turning into more than just another mid-card title challenger ended when he lost to CM Punk at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
Despite being arguably the best technical wrestler in the WWE today, Bryan always seemed destined to float on in mindless feuds while having great pay-per-view matches whenever he was given the chance. His size and background in Ring of Honor were always going to work against him with Vince McMahon as his boss.
Somewhere along the way, someone took notice of what Bryan could do, and he was given a nice push that included a run with the world title and a feud with Punk for the WWE championship.

Now that John Cena is in the mix for the title, and Bryan is getting married to the WWE's favorite diva AJ, the end is here for the former world heavyweight champion as a serious player.
It is a sad, harsh reality to come to grips with, but the sooner it settles in the better it will be for everyone involved.
You could see just how much of the bloom was off the rose last Monday, when Bryan proposed to AJ. No one in the audience cared. They were supposed to take their cues from Bryan. They were supposed to start chanting "YES!" after he got down on his knees.
Instead, they largely looked at their watch just hoping this segment would end soon.
I realise that this is the WWE's fault. For whatever reason, the creative team wants AJ to be a big star.
Having said that, sadly, it is going to be Bryan that suffers along the way.
The WWE seems to like these soap opera elements a lot more than building around the company's wrestlers. It has been this way for years, yet somehow, someway, it seems to be getting worse as time goes by.
Bryan's time in the spotlight did not last nearly as long as it could or should have. Given the direction that this angle with AJ seems to be going, I fear that he will never get these moments back.
