The charismatic and hugely photogenic Sunny joined the then-WWF in 1996 and had a fondly remembered run as a valet for various tag teams, most notably, the BodyDonnas.
However, despite her overwhelming success as a manager, she parted ways with the company in 1998.
No official reason for the release ever came out, but the star would claim in a 2011 "Where Are They Now?" interview with WWE.com it was due to management's anger over her growing ties to rival promotion ECW.
She has since returned to the company for a couple of one-off appearances, most notably at Raw's 15th Anniversary show in 2007 when she appeared in a lengthy comedy segment with Vince McMahon, Triple H and Mae Young.
Sytch also became one of the few women to be inducted into WWE's prestigious Hall of Fame in 2011. In one of the shows most deeply touching moments, an emotional Sytch gave a long, heartwarming speech surrounded by all the Divas on the roster (whom she had paved the way for).
Here's hoping that Sytch can overcome and conquer whatever demons she is currently dealing with. To acknowledge that she needed help, and ask for it, was a brave first step to take.
A great deal of credit should also go to Vince McMahon and WWE for funding her stay in rehab, allowing her to get the help she needs.
