Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Land Roma Star Fabio Borini
Brendan Rodgers appears to have finally signed his first player as Liverpool manager, and it's a big one.
According to David Maddock of the Daily Mirror, the Reds have agreed on a £12m fee with Roma for striker Fabio Borini:
"Liverpool have agreed a £12million fee to make Fabio Borini the first signing of new boss Brendan Rodgers' Anfield revolution.
The Italian arrived on Merseyside on Friday morning and is expected to have a medical at noon, after the deal was sealed when the English club offered Roma a swift profit on their investment in the young striker.

What was once reported is now confirmed by Liverpool FC's official team website. A press release by the club officially declared the signing of Fabio Borini.
"The Italy international has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Reds after agreeing terms and passing a medical at Melwood.
"
I've already shed some background on the Borini signing, but this sets everything in motion. With everything in permanent ink Rodgers can mold his squad more to his liking and get a better bearing as to where things stand.

Liverpool fans have been eagerly awaiting an addition to last season's putrid offense. The Reds finished in eighth in the English Premier League table and only scored 47 goals in 38 games.
If Rodgers wanted to improve his team's standing, he needed to inject some life into their attack. Borini's presence will do just that.
Borini is only 21 years old. He scored nine goals in 24 appearances with Roma last season, while on loan. According to the Mirror report, he had a strike rate of one goal for every two games. He isn't experienced, but he has produced in his limited time on the pitch in Serie A.
He will have to adjust next year. The EPL is far more competitive than Serie A, but his familiarity with Rodgers will help. The Liverpool boss coached Borini when he was a member of Chelsea's youth squad.
Being used to Rodgers' possession style of play will ease his transition into the rugged waters of EPL football.
This move doesn't just impact Borini, either. Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has been linked with a loan move over the last few weeks. AC Milan seems like a likely destination, according to The Independent, especially after Milan's offloading of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Thursday.
Liverpool fans have patiently waited for the wheels to start turning under Rodgers' reign. The signing of Borini marks the first sign of progress in the Reds' new era.
He's an affordable signing, considering his production across a small sample size. His tremendous potential makes him a steal.
Borini will be a pleasure to watch for Liverpool's army of fans at Anfield next season.
