Blake Griffin Injury: Anthony Davis Is Woefully Unprepared to Help Team USA
Team USA is in deep trouble.
According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski:

The U.S. Olympic men's basketball team—which was already incredibly thin up front—has decided to call up Anthony Davis, someone who's completely unprepared for what's in store in London this summer.
"As expected, Anthony Davis has been chosen to replace Blake Griffin on the Team USA roster, a source close to Davis tells Y! Sports.

This isn't going to be pretty.
Forget about the fact that Davis is just now coming back from his own injury—a sprained ankle suffered during a recent workout with his new team, the New Orleans Hornets. That isn't the issue, here. Sure, it's not going to help his chances, but there are far greater things to worry about.
Davis is a young kid who hasn't even grown into his body yet. He's grown eight inches since his junior year in high school and he's as skinny as a twig.
Heck, until his monumental growth spurt, Davis wasn't even a post player. He was a 6'3" shooting guard looking forward to playing for Cleveland State, according to ESPN.com's Andy Katz.
Now, he's going to have to play against some of the world's best post players who are familiar with the international game—grizzled vets who eat guys like Davis for breakfast on a regular basis.
Davis isn't ready for this. He is one year removed from high school, he's hasn't even played in a summer-league game for the Hornets and his post game is still in its infancy.
Team USA is in big trouble now, as their only big men are Tyson Chandler, Kevin Love and Davis.
Davis looked okay during his short stint off the bench in the team's first exhibition on July 12 against the Dominican Republic, tallying nine points, but his single rebound is what worries me. He isn't fit to bang in the post against the likes of the Gasol brothers (Marc and Pau) and Serge Ibaka from Spain and many of the other big men from around the world.
Some may say they had no choice but to call Davis up after the news of Griffin's injury, but there were other players available to them. Carlos Boozer would have been a better choice. Lamar Odom would have been a better choice. Heck, even a 42-year-old Christian Laettner would be a better option than Davis.
At least he shaves.
Davis is in no way prepared for what's ahead of him, and Team USA could suffer a terrible embarrassment this summer as a result.
