Golden State Warriors: Stat Predictions for Every Rookie
Now that the 2012 NBA Draft is behind us and the Summer League is approaching, teams are locking in to their offseason routines and developing playbooks and lineups.
The Golden State Warriors hold four rookies on their 2012-2013 roster, and these debut players will be the biggest question marks headed into the season.
Here are stat predictions for each of the Golden State rookies.
Harrison Barnes, F
1 of 4Harrison Barnes was selected No. 7 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Barnes' impressive scoring totals landed him in the top 10 of the draft, and fans can expect him to transition pretty smoothly into the big leagues.
While the 20-year-old probably won't see quite as many minutes as he did in college, his field-goal percentage should stay right around 40-45 from the floor. Look for him to contribute double-digit point totals in crucial games.
Festus Ezeli, C
2 of 4Festus Ezeli was drafted No. 30 overall.
Although he didn't put up huge numbers in college, Ezeli could be an impact player for the Warriors, depending on Andrew Bogut's health status.
I don't expect him to be a major scorer, but look for the 23-year-old to average around seven rebounds and hopefully keep up his average of two blocks per game. He'll definitely be an asset on defense.
Draymond Green, F
3 of 4Draymond Green was drafted No. 35 overall.
Although a semi-late pick, Green has four years of solid college experience under his belt, and his stats have increased largely with each season. At 6'7" 230 pounds, he has the large frame to contend in the big leagues, and it's fair to say he can expect some solid minutes in his debut season.
Green was a strong rebounder at Michigan State, and I predict he'll average 10 boards a game while solidifying the Dubs' frontcourt.
Ognjen Kuzmic, C
4 of 4Ognjen Kuzmić was drafted No. 52 overall.
Since the Warriors drafted Ezeli as a center, fans shouldn't expect to see much of him during his rookie year.
The Spaniard put up decent numbers overseas, but he hasn't proven himself enough to be more than a third or fourth-string roster member. Kuzmic was mainly drafted as a security blanket, and I don't expect him to see playing much at all.
