WWE: 5 Questions Coming from Monday Night Raw
As we get closer and closer to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, the pathway is becoming a bit more clear. On Monday Night Raw, a No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship was crowned, two "legends" returned... and more WWE Championship drama.
As always, though, five questions are in need of answers.
Civil comments are encouraged.
Are We Seeing a Slow Cody Rhodes Push?
1 of 6I sure hope so. Cody Rhodes has been one of the unfortunate casualties of the unofficial brand extension end. Wallowing in the mid-card division is something most thought would have ended a long time ago for Rhodes. The Intercontinental Title was initially a good move for him, but it did nothing to propel his career.
His feud with Christian was good on paper—as well as the matches—but it didn't really pan out to the hype.
Hopefully the possibility of entering the WHC MITB match pending the Board's decision is the start of a prosperous push for Rhodes—he most assuredly deserves it.
Are We Supposed to Think Sheamus Will Lose the WHC at MITB?
2 of 6I hope not. As a matter of fact, it doesn't seem like he will be losing that title anything soon.
The level of predictability concerning the World Heavyweight Championship has been fairly high since Sheamus won it at WrestleMania 28. The only possible exception would be the Fatal Four Way Match at Over the Limit, simply because he didn't have to get pinned.
Alberto Del Rio is, to echo Taz's phrase, "just another victim" to Sheamus's path of pinfalls.
What Is Next for Sin Cara?
3 of 6Sin Cara has been a subject of harsh criticisms for nearly his entire career in the WWE due to his constant spot-botching and wellness policy violation.
It seems as if the go-ahead for his continued push has been halted after falling victim to a Alberto Del Rio beatdown on Raw.
I can't really put my finger on why Sin Cara just doesn't cut it in the WWE. His Mexican wrestling style is fun to watch (when done properly), and he has a good look and theme music.
Maybe his lack of direction (similar to Ryback and once-Brodus Clay) is causing many to lose interest. Unfortunately, Sin Cara may be relegated to going back and forth against Heath Slater on Superstars after Slater's run with the legends expires.
Are We Still Seeing a Possible Jericho Babyface Turn?
4 of 6Since his return last week on Raw interrupting John Cena during his promo, Chris Jericho is leaving many puzzled as to whether he has gone back to his heelish ways or is slowing turning over a new leaf.
Last week, he had a retro-Stephanie McMahon moment going back and forth with Vickie Guerrero. This week, he brought back his old catch phrases and argued with Daniel Bryan.
While it may just be a mockery of his days of old, the "C'mon Baybay" screams during the tag match may still hint to a possible face run in the near future.
Still, Who Cares About Tensai?
5 of 6Stop forcing the overindulgence of Tensai to the WWE Universe. The loss to Tyson Kidd was a good thing—Kidd is an amazing athlete and deserves to be the current representative of the Hart legacy.
However, the post-match beatdown to Sakamoto and subsequent backstage attack to Kidd?
Pathetic.
Tensai is a failed project. The WWE must admit that. I strongly think the majority of the WWE Universe could do without Tensai hissing every time he attempts to climb the ladder and retrieve the briefcase at the MITB PPV. Eventually, it would be so embedded in our minds that we'll start having nightmares of snakes.
Please, WWE—don't provoke us to have snake nightmares.
