Spain vs. France: La Furia Roja Won't Be Denied Chance to Extend Their Reign
Spain won't bat an eye taking down France in the Euro 2012 quarterfinals.
La Furia Roja are on a mission to extend their world-wide dominance, having won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2008 UEFA European Championships, and Les Bleus aren't the team to take them out.
History is against Spain on this matter, though, as they have never beaten France in a competitive setting, according to UEFA.com. Their last loss to Les Bleus came in the 2006 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, and head coach Vincente del Bosque is well aware of the one-sided history between the two clubs.

""Everybody thinks we're favourites because we won the EUROs four years ago and the World Cup two years ago", said del Bosque. "But there's also evidence that France have always been better in competitive fixtures so we'll just have to see if we can change history. We are modest but optimistic."

Modest, indeed.
Del Bosque's team is better equipped to handle the task of taking out France than the 2006 team was, and they are on a serious roll heading into this epic showdown. They have yet to lose in this year's European Championship, tying once and winning twice, while France have already been defeated by Sweden in the third game of the opening round.
The only other team that has fared better than Spain so far in this tournament is red-hot Germany, who have defeated all three opponents they faced.
Spain is a team loaded with superstars. Men like Andres Iniesta, David Silva, Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas will be too much for France to handle.
I'm not saying it'll be a blowout, but France won't be able to overcome the wave of momentum and talent La Furia Roja boasts at this time. History will finally be made when Spain defeats France on a competitive stage for the first time in history on June 23, 2012.
