Every day here at Your Best 11, we are counting down to the start of the regular season with our top 150 players for the 2012 season.

No. 99: Isaiah Crowell, No. 1, Georgia, Running Back

Crowell came in as a highly touted running back for a reason. He has all sorts of skills when it comes to running the ball. He has great vision, nice quickness, solid balance, the ability to shake off tacklers and the get up and go necessary to get out of the gate.

Crowell has a great ability to "step in and step out" of tackles that gets him loose on the edge and allows him to pick up yardage going from the inside to the outside. Between the tackles, the rising sophomore is an effective ball-carrier as well, capable of hitting the hole with his quick burst and then exploding into the second level where he becomes a problem for back-end defenders.

Weaknesses:

Durability. There are two camps here. Either Crowell is not a durable back or he just is not a tough player.

In the first camp, we see Crowell limping and sitting on the bench during critical times. It seems the nagging injuries are getting to him and he can't get healthy. That is a problem for any running back.

In the second camp, we see Crowell taking himself out of the game and missing crucial moments because he just is not tough enough or motivated to play when circumstances are not ideal.

This is not about playing injured, but it is about managing the nicks, bumps and bruises of a college football season. If Crowell can't stay healthy, that is a problem. However, if he is unwilling to play when he is sucking wind or dealing with the bumps and bruises that every other player battles, that is an even bigger problem for him.

2012 Prediction:

The Bulldogs now have Keith Marshall, a talented freshman running back who participated in spring practice.  Now we will see how much of Crowell's issue is true injury and how much is mental.

With a legitimate threat to his playing time, Crowell will either stand up to the challenge or give way to Marshall. Given his abilities and the pressure that will be put on him, I expect Crowell to excel in 2012.

He will rush for close to 1,000 yards. While he may not equal the production of Marcus Lattimore or Knile Davis, he does have the ability to make the All-SEC team this season.
