Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Making Right Choice to Avoid Stevan Jovetic
Chelsea is making the right decision to avoid Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, despite sources linking the player and club as of late.
According to Mirror Football, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade said that the club hasn't received any offers or bids from Chelsea for the 22-year-old forward. As per the report, Prade said this:
""For the time being, Jovetic is our player," Prade told Italian radio station Radio Uno. "Chelsea have never made an official proposal and I know their [Chelsea's] club executives very well as I lived in England for a year.
"We want to build our team around Jovetic."

It seems like Chelsea has made the decision that they won't be putting forth an offer on the $20 million striker, or are tentative to do so at the very least.
If Roman Abramovich was interested in forking over the necessary cash, he surely would have made waves with some semblance of an offer if Prade is as close with the club executives as he says.
It's not as though Abramovich doesn't have the money to spend, but this acquisition would prove to be wasteful down the road. Jovetic is a quality attacker, as he scored 14 league goals in 27 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina in the 2011-2012 term.
He's not worth that kind of money, though.
Not to mention, Chelsea hardly needs his services on the offensive front with the recent addition of Eden Hazard. Both players have the ability to play the forward position.
Jovetic made 18 appearances at the center-forward position and seven at the left-forward position last season. Hazard played 23 matches at the left-forward position and 10 as an attacking center midfielder.
An important issue here would be their ability to work together on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard made all kinds demands before agreeing to come to the Blues. He wanted to be No. 10, he wanted inordinately high wages and he wanted starter's minutes.
It goes without saying that he wants the ball in his possession as much as possible next season with Chelsea, and the acquisition of Jovetic would certainly decrease the impact he has.
Another obstacle to overcome would be the amount of money that Jovetic would command for his services. Abramovic could use $100 bills as toilet paper, but $20 million isn't exactly chump change.
It's obviously something that the Chelsea owner could feasibly afford, but how long can a club sustain itself when it is shelling out millions upon millions on a whim.
If Jovetic was to come to Fulham Road, it would mean that the Chelsea front office had all but lost faith in Fernando Torres. He didn't play to the best of his abilities last season, but he's far from washed up, and $50 million is too much to just give up on.
With Didier Drogba on the outs, Torres can start to make more of an impact next season.
Jovetic is a great player and would surely make a huge impact on another club, but he isn't the right man for Chelsea to bring to London.
