Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid Star Wise to Announce He Wants to Stay with Club
It's a refreshing sight to see a football player make a commitment to his club prior to putting pen to page and signing off on a new deal.
When a mega star chooses to do so, it's even more impressive.
Cristiano Ronaldo has made it known that he would like to spend the rest of his career with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo told Spanish newspaper Marca this about his future with the club, as per the Daily Mail:
"I feel very close to the fans and that's why I want to stay here a long time and show the love I have for this shirt.
If it were totally up to me, I would end my career at Real Madrid, honestly. I would sign a ten year extension right now. I want to stay, but that decision is really up to other people.
"
This must come as a relief to the Real Madrid faithful, as there must have been a sentiment that Ronaldo wasn't too happy with the Bernabeu fans who booed the club back in December after Real Madrid lost to Barcelona 3-1.
Of course, fans get impatient and angry if they don't see success when they come to watch a football match in person, but I'm sure most Real fans realize the full body of work that Ronaldo has compiled since he arrived he received £80 million to play with the club back in 2009.
Real Madrid is one of the most—if not the most—storied organizations in all of football worldwide. There aren't any teams who can compete with their vast and storied tradition, which is precisely why Ronaldo has done well to announce that he wants to remain with Los Blancos.
The 27-year-old forward has scored 112 goals in 102 appearances with Real Madrid. Things are going quite swimmingly for Ronaldo and his club, as they won the 2011-2012 La Liga championship. Sans Lionel Messi, the Portuguese sensation was the best player of the season, scoring 46 goals in 38 league games.
Ronaldo has already etched himself into the annals of Real Madrid lore, and at 27 years old, he has a chance to become one of the best players in the club's 110-year history if he sticks around for the rest of his career. The love he will receive for the fans, the endless stream of endorsements he will grab and the possible title of the best player in Real Madrid history will be enough to keep him going.
If nothing else, this announcement starts the 2012-2013 La Liga season off on the right foot for Real Madrid, as they will look to defend their title against the ever-imposing Barcelona club.
