College Football Recruiting 2013: 7 Recruits Likely to Announce on Signing Day
Not sure if you've noticed over the past couple recruiting cycles, but the trend these days is to commit early. In the past, the en vogue thing was to wait until NSD and do the hat display to announce.
This year, most of the top 100 prospects are already locked in. However, we still have several five-star and high profile prospects left on the board, mulling their options.
For this read, I'm going to give you seven prospects that will likely wait until NSD to announce.
7. Derrick Green, RB
1 of 7Green is feeling good about himself these days, as he was recently made the No. 1 RB prospect in the nation and a five-tar recruit in the Rivals 100.
Of course, with that comes great attention, and Green is not starving for offers by any means. Per Rivals.com, Green is not in a hurry to make a decision anytime soon, and it sounds like he could indeed wait all the way until signing day.
6. Kailo Moore, RB
2 of 7Another RB prospect, Moore is a speedy back from Mississippi. It appears that he has whittled his list down and is just going to really weigh his options.
Per Scout.com, Moore is down to Ole Miss, Mississippi State and LSU. I think he is leaning towards the Bulldogs, but that is just a hunch.
Moore says a choice won't be made until NSD.
5. Stacy Coley, WR
3 of 7Coley may have some work to do to qualify academically, per Chris Snee of Rivals.com, but there is no denying this guy can flat out play.
Yet, look for Coley to likely stay in-state with the main three Florida schools all slugging it out. Scout.com reports that Coley has stated he will wait until NSD to announce.
4. Robert Foster, WR
4 of 7The feeling goes back and forth on Foster; sometimes I think he really is open to a slew of schools, while other times I think he knows more than he's letting on.
Anyway you slice it, look for the uber-talented WR prospect to not do anything for awhile. He could announce at anytime, but I just think Foster will take his trips and likely announce at a postseason all-star game at the earliest.
If not, don't expect anything until NSD.
3. Montravious Adams, DT
5 of 7Adams is one of the elite DT prospects in this class, and has a slew of schools wanting his services. He's been pretty open, but is starting to shape up his favorites.
Many schools have their hat in the ring, and Adams tells Scout.com that he will likely make his choice near NSD.
2. Laremy Tunsil, OT
6 of 7Tunsil has a high ceiling as the the nation's top OT prospect. He's 6'6", 295-pounds, and could develop into a great LT/RT in college.
On the recruiting front, he has a top five of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma and LSU. USC and Ole Miss are also trying to crack the whip, too, per Scout.com, and I also say, don't count out Florida State just yet.
Tunsil's decision won't come until Signing Day.
1. Robert Nkemdiche, DE
7 of 7Nkemdiche was going to announce on May 18th, but the announcement got cancelled because he just wasn't ready to choose.
Ole Miss, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Florida are his main suitors, according to Scout.com. Nkemdiche is the No. 1 player in the country, and it appears he is truly mulling over where he wants to go.
I think Alabama is the pick, but he could certainly end up anywhere. This likely won't end until NSD.
