Sacramento Kings' Roster on the Trading Block
The World Famous Layup Drill Rumor Mill
Knicks fans seem to be the butt of NBA superstars' jokes these days. Nearly a decade of disappointment in Madison Square Garden could be erased in the hearts of Knicks fans everywhere if their beloved team could land one of the big free agents of the summer of 2010.
Some of those players have talked openly with the media about the possibility of joining the team. Dwayne Wade did just a few days ago.
Wade spoke with New York media about LeBron James and Wade both potentially ending up in the orange and blue. However, word out of Miami is that his words were taken out of context.
The Miami Herald reports today that, while Wade still believes there is a possibility of him and LeBron both signing at the same place, the odds of it happening in New York are slim.
As we move on to the trade rumors, the names of players that could be on the move gets longer every morning. Today, word out of Sacramento is that the Kings are ready to start all over again.
With the exception of Kevin Martin, anyone is available on the roster. Those that are drawing the most interest currently include John Salmons, who has received some attention from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Two NBA insiders tell LayupDrill.com that the Thunder have offered veteran forward Joe Smith in exchange for Salmons, though the Kings are looking for multiple draft picks as well.
The two sides on that deal are still a ways apart.
Brad Miller is another Kings player who has found his name in the rumor mill all season. Sacramento has found another trade partner if the Kings and the Heat cannot come to terms on a Brad Miller-for-Shawn Marion deal.
The Chicago Bulls have veteran swing man Larry Hughes on the trading block, and Hughes, along with a young forward like Joakim Noah or Tyrus Thomas, could be headed out West for Miller and other considerations.
Other Kings players already being talked about in trade rumors according to the Sacramento Bee include reserve forward Mikki Moore, who is expected to be headed back to the Nets, and Beno Udrih, who is drawing major interest from the Mavericks, Magic, and Hornets.
