College Football Recruiting 2013: Ranking the Top 10 Atlantic Region Prospects

Edwin WeathersbyJun 2, 2018

We have gone around the country ranking the top 10 prospects from each region. We've been to the South, Texas, Florida, California and up to the Midwest.

Today, we arrive at the Atlantic and will give you the top 10 prospects that are from this region. I think you are going to be pretty surprised at how much good talent there is here, as it was tougher than expected to assemble this list.

Let's get started.

10. John Montelus, OL

1 of 10

Montelus is a 6'5", 300-pound OG prospect from Massachusetts. He currently plays LT for his high school team, but his frame and skill set project him to OG in college.

At the snap, Montelus has great pop in his punch, which he quickly uses to gain advantage over his targets. He shows solid agility and athleticism to battle as a pass-protector, and some second-level ability as a run-blocker.

He has committed to Notre Dame.

9. Alquadin Muhammad, DE

2 of 10

Alquadin Muhammad hails from the New Jersey powerhouse Don Bosco Prep. He's a 6'3", 230-pound DE prospect that has pretty good athleticism and range.

He shows natural pass-rushing skills with a solid first step at the snap. He also has good speed in his fight to pressure and an above-average burst on the ball to finish.

When needed, Muhammad can stand up and play some OLB in a pinch.

Watch out for Rutgers.

8. Alex Anzalone, LB/RB

3 of 10

Alex Anzalone's recruitment has been subject to some controversy, but let's not get lost from the fact that he is really good at pure football.

At 6'3", the 220-pound Anzalone can play RB or LB. He has good speed, is very tough, likes to play big at the point of attack and has natural playing instincts.

Florida, Penn State, Notre Dame, Stanford and USC are the main hunters here.

7. Kevin Olsen, QB

4 of 10

Kevin Olsen is from New Jersey and is a coach's son. He stands at 6'3", 190-pounds and has good traits for the position.

A solid leader, Olsen has above-average arm strength, good accuracy and makes wise decisions. He sees the field well, can read a coverage and get the football to his targets by anticipating voids, and implements good ball placement.

Olsen committed to Miami last week.

6. Patrick Kugler, OG

5 of 10

A Pennsylvania native, Patrick Kugler could be the top pure OG prospect in the country. He stands at 6'4", 270-pounds with great toughness, strength and excellent technique.

Kugler will maul in the run game, jumping on top of his targets and using leg strength and good hand placement to move them off their spots. He works well in a short area as a pass-protector and finisher on rush slips.

He has committed to Michigan.

5. Adam Breneman, TE

6 of 10

The top TE prospect in the country this year, Adam Breneman is a 6'5", 225-pounder also from Pennsylvania.

He is usually flexed out and plays WR well. However, he is destined to move inside and wreak havoc up the seams of college football.

His ball skills, size, large catch radius, soft hands and good speed in the intermediate passing game will make him a prime target in the Penn State passing game.

4. Kendall Fuller, DB

7 of 10

Fuller is one of the best pure athletes in the national class and hails from Maryland. He stands 6'0", 185-pounds and has amazing natural athleticism.

He's still a bit raw, but Fuller has the makings of an elite cover corner. He has quick feet, great balance, easy movement and agility.

Coming out of transition, planting and driving on receivers comes easy for him. Look out for Michigan, Clemson and Virginia Tech.

3. Robert Foster, WR

8 of 10

Another player from Pennsylvania, Foster has top release quickness at WR on a 6'2", 190-pound frame.

He fires off the line and is smooth and controlled in his route. He also blazes fast, doesn't need to decelerate to cut and quickly separates from a DB to make the grab.

After that is when the defense is really in trouble, due to Foster possessing outstanding RAC skills.

He's open in his recruitment and has offers from many top programs, according to Scout.com

2. Eli Woodard, CB

9 of 10

Woodard, from New Jersey, could actually be better than Vernon Hargreaves III. He's 6'0", 185-pounds and has an excellent frame.

He is a muscular corner, has good strength to press well, great technique, excellent cover awareness and a feel for routes. Woodard has good vision in zone coverage, and once he sees a route developing, he will jump it with great speed and drive hard to close.

He has committed to Ohio State.

1. Kenny Bigelow, DT

10 of 10

Bigelow has been dominating camps and combines as of late, and has bulked up to 6'3", 297-pounds. He will be a fantastic three-technique DT in college.

His snap quickness can overwhelm blockers. He is also physical at the point of attack, strong to get free and clean, has excellent foot quickness and the speed to pursue ball-carriers.

Bigelow has great speed as a rusher and a great fight to pressure the passer. He shows the needed burst to finish sacks.

From Delaware and attending school in Maryland, Bigelow is committed to USC.
