Antonio Tarver vs. Lateef Kayode: Preview, Start Time, Live Stream and Schedule
It may not feature Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, but the "Four Warned" pay-per-view on June 2 promises to be a good one. The main event will feature former Light Heavyweight Champion Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver taking on undefeated Nigerian Lateef "Power" Kayode in a Cruiserweight grudge match.
The 43-year-old Tarver bounced back from consecutive losses to Chad Dawson with decisive victories over Nagy Aguilera and Danny Green, so he enters his bout with Kayode with a lot of momentum. Despite his unblemished record, Kayode hasn't been at his best as of late. This has prompted Tarver, who moonlights as a Showtime analyst, to be quite critical of him.
Perhaps it was all a ploy for Tarver to get a shot at the 29-year-old power puncher. If that was indeed the plan, then Tarver will certainly get what he wanted. Here is your complete guide for when and where to watch the clash between Tarver and Kayode on June 2.

Keys to Tarver Victory
Tarver may be at a 14-year disadvantage in terms of age, but some would say that Tarver's experience gives him the edge. It's tough to say whether or not that will be the case, but there is no doubt that Tarver has been in many more big fights than Kayode. Tarver has faced some of the all-time greats such as Roy Jones, Jr. and Bernard Hopkins, so nothing in this fight is going to surprise him.
As far as Tarver is concerned, the longer this fight goes, the more it benefits him. He may not have as much endurance as Kayode, but Kayode hasn't been particularly convincing in his past three unanimous-decision victories, so there is reason to believe that a savvy fighter like Tarver can beat him on the scorecards. Tarver simply doesn't have the power to stand toe to toe with Kayode, so if he fights a smart bout and keeps his distance, he'll be in great shape.
Keys to Kayode Victory
Despite his past few fights being quite underwhelming, Kayode is still considered one of boxing's rising stars. He hasn't really beaten any name brands to this point, so his battle against Tarver will be the highest-profile bout of his career by far. Of Kayode's 18 wins, 14 of them have come by way of knockout, so there is no question that his biggest strength is his power punching. Because of that, he needs to be the aggressor.
Tarver has a ton more experience and is more technically sound that Kayode, so he isn't going to press the issue. Kayode can win a fight, but I doubt he can win a true boxing match against Tarver, so he ought to just throw everything in his arsenal at the Magic Man. Tarver has never been knocked out before, so it will be a tall order for Kayode to be the first, but it's his best chance and the only real option for the African star.
Prediction
Although it would undoubtedly be better for boxing if Kayode were to win since the sport needs some new stars, Tarver won't be willing to go quietly. He has looked rejuvenated over his past couple outings and he clearly has a beef with Kayode, so he'll be motivated to turn in a strong performance.
Kayode figures to come out with guns a blazin', but Tarver is smart and skilled enough to weather the early storm. At some point Kayode will punch himself out, and that will allow Tarver to dominate the later rounds and grab a unanimous-decision victory.
