Arsenal Transfer News: Lukasz Fabianski's Imminent Departure Good for Both Sides
This summer will mark the end of the Lukasz Fabianski era for the Arsenal…and that’s ok.
According to a report from ESPN, Fabianski has confirmed his intentions to leave Aresnal and seek greener pastures.
Well, maybe just pastures that will allow him to play.

The 27-year-old goalie was only granted six appearances in the 2011-12 season as Polish teammate Wojciech Szczesny emerged as the clear favorite to protect the net for the Gunners.
Whether it is for a season-long loan or a permanent deal, he is all but gone. Especially when you hear quotes like this from him (via Gazeta Wyborcza): "I hope that my adventure with Arsenal has come to an end. I intend to leave and play in a strong league. I wanted to leave in the winter, too, but Arsene Wenger did not give a green light."
Adventure indeed.
Since coming over from Legia Warsaw in 2007, his playing time has wavered greatly.
He appeared in 22 games during the 2008-09 season—only to play in 11 the following season. He was back to the starter in 2010-11 with 22 appearances, before the debacle this season. Along the way he has experienced plenty of highs and lows that will forever be remembered by Arsenal fans.
Now he can go elsewhere…and expect Fabianski to land on his feet.
He has plenty of experience, on top of being incredibly agile and possessing some of the quickest reflexes in the league. His mental toughness is another standout trait. There is plenty of gas left in his proverbial tank.
With Szczesny firmly entrenched as the goalkeeper and the Gunners looking to bolster other parts of the roster, Fabianski has become expendable, and a divorce in this marriage is the right move at this point.
