Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich: What a Champions League Win Means for the Blues
Chelsea and Bayern Munich are two of the biggest clubs in the world. The English powerhouse and the German giants are perennial Champions League contenders, and they are always threats in their own leagues.
However, this year, neither team was expected in the final.
Bayern Munich ultimately fell to second in the Bundesliga this season and was a big underdog against La Liga champions Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final. They overcame those odds, however, and they will be the first team to play the final in their home stadium.

As for Chelsea, they actually sacked their manager a little after the mid-way point of the English Premier League season, and they then went on to win the FA Cup and reach this final for the first time since 2008—a game in which they lost to Manchester United in PKs.
The Blues have persevered and found tremendous form in competitions outside of league play.
Unfortunately, their poor performance in the EPL means that they have to win the final to guarantee themselves a spot in the UEFA Champions League next year.
Chelsea finished sixth in the league, and that is far from good enough to qualify for the prestigious European tournament.
This is likely the last chance veterans like Frank Lampard, John Terry and Petr Cech will get at Champions League glory should the Blues lose. Next season could be the last season they're all together starring at Stamford Bridge.
This title game is also likely the last time Didier Drogba dons Chelsea blue.
A win for Chelsea wouldn't only mark their first Champions League crown; it is so much more than that for the players involved.
