Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea: Why Roberto Di Matteo Should Stay Whatever the Result
It has been a season of two halves for Chelsea this campaign.
The first half being the Villas-Boas era, and the second being Roberto Di Matteo's time.
Not many people would disagree that the latter of the two halves has been the more fruitful, and some have even called the turnaround under Di Matteo miraculous.

After Villas-Boas was sacked, rightly or wrongly, there were a number of rumours flying around about who would replace him, with every man in Europe with a coaching badge reportedly being lined up for the job.
Chelsea decided to go with Villas-Boas' right-hand man, Chelsea legend Roberto Di Matteo.
It has proven to be a wise decision, as the players have responded to his tactics and the team look to have become a solid unit once again.
With a string of impressive results, Di Matteo's Blues have somehow managed to manoeuvre their way into the Champions League final, a task that looked impossible only a few months ago.
Di Matteo has gained the players' faith, and has done the impossible...he has got Fernando Torres scoring again.
Chelsea's league campaign got off to an up-and-down start, and then got progressively worse under Villas-Boas, so Di Matteo can be forgiven for not leading the Blues to a top-four finish guaranteeing them a place in next year's Champions League.
Besides, he has already brought silverware back to Stamford Bridge by guiding Chelsea to an FA Cup final over Liverpool.
But still, after all his achievements, it is believed that his job is not safe unless he brings home the elusive Champions League trophy.
We all know how much Roman Abramovich wants European glory—in fact, you could say he is obsessed with it—but surely he won't sack a manager that has done so well for his club for losing to one of Europe's biggest clubs?
Whatever the result in Munich on May 19th, Di Matteo should be offered the role on a permanent basis because there is no evidence as of yet that shows he is not up to the task.
He has already found what looks to be a bargain in 23-year-old midfielder Marko Marin, and Di Matteo deserves the chance to try and bring in personnel in the next transfer window.
Even if Di Matteo doesn't turn out to be the right man for the job, there is no way of knowing without giving him time to build his team and adopt his philosophies on to the players, so time is what he needs.
Give that man the job!
