WWE: Can the Company Truly Move on After Undertaker's Eventual Retirement?
The WWE is forever.
It has been around for decades and continues to bring joy and entertainment to millions of fans worldwide.
What makes it so eternal is the variety of superstars who have been part of the roster year after year. They come out every night with their costumes and masks, marching to the ring with their famed entrance themes and send shivers down the spines of the WWE Universe.

Only a handful ever exceed expectation and make it to "Legend" or "Icon" status—names like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Timeless characters who have shaped and formed the landscape of pro-wrestling for all time.
In WWE particularly, there is one who has surpassed all others. His name echoes throughout the world as the franchise, the blood of WrestleMania. There are many ways to identify him: Big Evil, the Phenom, the man from the dark side...all synonymous with fear and power.
He is The Undertaker, and there is no one more awe-inspiring than this creature.
Having a record 20 victories and still undefeated at WrestleMania, plus an entire collection of championship and merits, this Icon is almost immortal yet still human and will eventually retire one day.
So many fans come to see him in action even though he does not perform as often as he once did. The second the gong hits, everyone knows they are in for a treat. There will never be another like him, ever.
What will happen when he finally hangs it all up? The face of the WWE will never be the same again, but does that mean it is all over?
I believe there will be a great void, a great emptiness to follow once Undertaker leaves, but only he can know when that happens—and no one can force anything on this Legend.
Now, let it be known that this company has been around for over 50 years and has seen its ups and downs. Losing people like Savage, Hogan, Sammartino is a very big deal, but this company survives nonetheless.
It will be no different when The Phenom fades away.
Remember that it is HE who is part of WWE, not the other way around. Treat his as a link, a very important link, to the large chain that is this amazing empire.
He is a success because he has worked hard all his life, but the business is a success because of all the "links" who have worked together, day in and day out, to make this "empire" the standard in professional wrestling or sports-entertainment, whatever you choose to call it.
Like any dilemma or crisis, time heals everything and life goes on. Because WWE is so creative, it will come up with something grand and ingenious, no doubt about it. They will bounce back from this as always.
As for the man from the dark side, he will stand tall and proud, side by side with all the other living Legends. He, like others, will have the crowd in the palm of his hands and will affect programming and pay-per-view simply by being present.
Now, that is playing with power. And what awesome power it is, the darkness that is The Undertaker.
