Brock Lesnar came back to the WWE roughly five weeks ago, and his return was met largely with the excitement that you would expect out of seeing a major MMA and wrestling star back in the WWE.
That excitement, however, quickly turned into fear when he we realized that Lesnar would be doing his own talking and wouldn’t have Paul Heyman by his side this time around.
Our fears only worsened when Lesnar grabbed the microphone on the last episode of Monday Night Raw before Extreme Rules and cut a rambling, never-ending promo that felt like it lasted more than an hour.

Maybe the WWE saw Lesnar out there struggling with every word, too—I don’t know—but something prompted Vince McMahon to do the first really smart thing he has done since bringing Lesnar back: Bring Heyman back, too.
In an incredibly shocking twist, Heyman showed up on last night’s Raw as Lesnar’s counsel and revealed that Lesnar had (storyline) quit the WWE.
Man oh man, was it good to see Heyman or what?
Although it’s clear that the WWE is going to book Lesnar like an “ass kicker” over the course of his one-year contract with the company, he was always going to need someone to do his talking for him.
Lesnar tried to talk multiple times. But he has never proven to be a master of the mic, and that certainly didn’t change in 2012.
Lesnar was missing something, and that something was Heyman. It’s just a huge surprise to Heyman back in the WWE.
He and Vince McMahon don’t exactly have the greatest relationship and have never really seen eye-to-eye, so it’s crazy to see the two working together again in 2012.
Crazy and smart, I should say.
While Lesnar was brought back to draw, the truth is that most of his feuds were going to suffer if he couldn’t at least do some mic work or have someone do it for him.
Now, he has Heyman to do that for the foreseeable future.
According to PWInsider.com (via WrestleNewz.com), Heyman is scheduled to work for the WWE through SummerSlam, and although that may not be as good as him working throughout Lesnar’s entire WWE run, that’s damn sure better than nothing.
Heyman is back, and the WWE is better off because of it.
