WWE News: Sin Cara Must Show Massive Improvement Upon Return
The WWE Universe had high hopes for Sin Cara before his debut last year due to the insane amount of hype created by the company. He failed to reach those expectations before he got injured and must now show serious improvement in his return to move back up the ladder.
Sin Cara, who was previously known as Mistico during his time as a star in Mexico, is expected to return to the WWE later this month, according to Andy Steven of WrestlingInc.com. He's been out since Survivor Series, where he suffered a knee injury.
Even before the injury, it was a rocky road for Sin Cara. His ring skills didn't translate to the WWE style as easily as the company thought they would, leading to countless botched moves and missed spots. Some of his SmackDown matches had to get re-taped as a result.

In reality, he probably should have been sent down to Florida Championship Wrestling for awhile to make sure he was up to speed before getting thrown into the mix. At the very least, he could have wrestled more than one house show to acclimate himself.
The company decided against doing that after airing teaser videos ahead of time, so he was asked to shine right away and couldn't do it. That's not entirely his fault, of course, but in a competitive environment, it didn't help his cause.
No videos have aired about his return, which is probably the WWE's way of trying to take some pressure off him this time around. It's a much safer approach that should help his in-ring performance.
As if the botches weren't enough, Sin Cara was also suspended 30 days for a wellness violation that led the company to put somebody else (Hunico) under the mask while he was gone.
Upon coming back, Mistico feuded with the other Sin Cara to take back the identity. He actually showed some chemistry with Hunico, but it didn't really show in his other matches, as he continued to make mistakes before getting hurt.
Now that Sin Cara's return is imminent, he'll face a lot of pressure to show that he's capable of surviving in the WWE. He has a lot of potential because of his high-flying abilities, which make him attractive to the younger demographic.
That said, if he doesn't show improvement shortly after his return, it will be time to start thinking about the future of the character. After pouring resources into him, the WWE will want to give him every chance to succeed, but it can't wait forever for him to figure things out.
He's shown glimpses of talent; now he must develop the consistency necessary to thrive. Only time will tell if he's able to pull it off, but I'm rooting for him because the character is promising.
