Aaron's 499 at Talladega 2012: Start Time, Lineup, TV Schedule and More
NASCAR returns to Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, where speed is the name of the game. Drivers regularly top 200 mph and that increases the chances of a major crash, known as "the big one." So the race provides a little bit of entertainment for every type of fan.
It will be difficult to match the excitement of last year's race, when Jimmie Johnson outlasted Clint Bowyer by .002 seconds. It tied Ricky Craven's victory over Kurt Busch in 2003 for closest finish in history.
But if there's any track that can produce two straight thrillers, it's Talladega.
Several big names have struggled in the early going this season, including Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne. They hope to use Sunday's race as a way to get things moving in the right direction again before it's too late to make a comeback.
Let's take a look at all the key information for the race, followed by some drivers to watch and a predicted winner for one of the year's biggest races.

Drivers to Watch
It's been nearly four years since Earnhardt last won a race, which came in the Lifelock 400 at Michigan. He's been running a lot better this season, however, as he currently sits in second place. The fan favorite also has five career victories at Talladega.
This race seems like the perfect opportunity to end the drought and perhaps take over the points lead in the process. You get the feeling that if he could simply get the monkey off his back by ending the drought, he would start winning on a more consistent basis.
Greg Biffle
Biffle was able to maintain a points lead despite his worst performance of the year last week in the Capital City 400. It will be interesting to see how he bounces back from a shaky outing considering he's in a position few people thought he would be when the season began.
The veteran only has one win, but has finished in the top 10 in all but three races so far. The standings reward those type of constant results. He'll need another strong finish to maintain his lead at Talladega, where he has just one top-five in 18 starts.
Jimmie Johnson
Last year's winner will be looking for a repeat performance on Sunday as he attempts to position himself for another run at the title. The five-time champion has taken the checkered flag twice at Talladega during his storied career.
After being knocked out just one lap into the Daytona 500 to start the season, it's been an uphill battle for Johnson, but he's handled it well. He hasn't finished outside the top 12 since, moving all the way up to sixth place. He's always a threat.
Predicted Winner: Dale Earnhardt Jr.
