LeBron James' Dominant Performance Helps Miami Heat Dismantle New York Knicks
LeBron James began his pursuit of his first NBA championship right against the New York Knicks Sunday afternoon, and boy did he start off with a bang.
While LeBron's 32 points afternoon, on 74.1 percent shooting was certainly impressive, his most dominant part of his game on Saturday was the defensive pressure that he brought to the court against Carmelo Anthony.
LeBron held 'Melo to 20 percent shooting from the field and only 11 points on the afternoon, with most of those points coming from the foul-line.
A majority of NBA analysts were calling for the Knicks and Heat playoff series to be one of the most competitive and most exciting of the 2012 playoffs, and they couldn't have been more wrong.
While the matchup was exciting to watch for Heat fans, its as anything but that for Knicks' fans, as they not only got blown out by 33 points, they also lost Iman Shumpert to a gruesome non-contact knee injury.
A majority of fans will point to quite a few questionable calls by the refs including this LeBron James' flop, but the truth is that no amount of calls going their way could've changed the outcome of this first-round blowout.
The next matchup between the Heat and the Knicks is Monday night at 7:00 pm ET in South Beach, and the biggest question is whether or not the Knicks will be able to rebound and make this series competitive.
My guess is that the next game will be more competitive, but we are certainly seeing a Miami Heat team that is ready to crush all the competition standing in their way of obtaining the 2012 NBA title.
I can't even say that the Knicks played bad this afternoon. Instead, the Heat just played that good. A team of NBA legends still would've had a tough time getting open shots off against the Heat's dominant defense.
LeBron's 2012 title run starts off with a bang, to say the least.
