Mickey Loomis Responds to Saints Bounty Scandal, Denies Wiretap Allegations
The New Orleans Saints have been hit hard with a bounty scandal and allegations that their general manager used wiretaps to listen in on the opposition. On Thursday afternoon, GM Mickey Loomis finally spoke out.
Loomis held a press conference where he made a clear statement on the allegations that he once used wiretaps to listen in on opposing teams and their play calls, per an ESPN report.
Hours before that press conference, Loomis stated that he would welcome any and all investigation into this matter, via NFL.com.

With no uncertainty or mincing of words, Loomis vehemently denied ever using, asking or taking part in any wiretapping, via WWLTV.
"In my 28 or 29 years in the NFL, I have never listened to an opposing team's communications. I have never asked for the capability to listen to an opposing team's communication.
"
He failed to discuss the bounty scandal in great detail, but he did his best to put a positive spin on a dark era in the Saints' history, via WWLTV:
"I believe that the by-product of this issue is that it will be a better league and the Saints are going to be a better team for having faced this."
Loomis is already under an eight-game suspension following the bounty scandal that has rocked the franchise for the past few months.
Earlier this week, Steve Wyche of NFL.com reported state and federal law officials have opened an investigation to find out whether Loomis violated wiretapping laws.
At the heart of the investigation are allegations that Loomis had a rigged device installed in the stadium that would have allowed him to listen into opposing coaches.
The press conference on Thursday was his turn to answer the allegations that he called absolutely false.
