Andrew Luck: Free-Agent WRs Who Would Save QB from Miserable Rookie Season
Andrew Luck is supremely talented, and I have no doubt he'll eventually find success in the NFL.
The Indianapolis Colts could help his cause by taking a hard look at some of the free-agent wide receivers still on the market.
The team will undoubtedly also pursue at least one rookie in this year's draft to add to their wide receiving corps, but adding another veteran to pair with Reggie Wayne will save Luck from having a disastrous rookie campaign.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Rookies don't always have the chops to step right in and flourish, but these proven players will give Luck and the Colts the best chance to win sooner rather than later.
Although Burress is getting up there in age at 34, his body is two years younger due to the fact that he sat out the 2009 and 2010 seasons while serving time in prison.
He is also a skilled touchdown maker and a reliable red-zone target.
At 6'5" and possessing extremely long arms and soft hands, Burress has always been one that's relied more on his ability to go get the ball than speed.
He won't necessarily stretch the field, but the Colts already have Donnie Avery to do that job for them.
Burress has at least two more years in his body, and he'd be a big-time help to Luck in the passing game.
Braylon Edwards
Edwards is still rehabbing a nagging knee injury. If you follow his Twitter account, then you know he is amped to play in 2012 and expects to be fully healthy and ready to go for training camp.
Muck like Burress, Edwards isn't going to burn up the track with blazing speed.
He is an excellent route-runner and willing run-blocker, though, and according to New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, he is an extremely hard worker in practice (H/T Bob Glauber via his Twitter account).
That is exactly the kind of player that will help out a young quarterback like Luck. Edwards did a good job with Mark Sanchez, developing chemistry with the young man on the field.
He'll do the same for Luck in Indy. With Reggie Wayne on the other side attracting constant double-teams, Edwards should have a nice comeback season after a disappointing 2011.
Mike Sims-Walker
Sims-Walker got his career of to a good start before getting derailed by knee injuries. Per Rotoworld.com, he had surgery back in November of 2011 and should be ready to give it another try by the time training camp rolls around.
Between 2009 and 2010, Sims-Walker caught 104 passes for 1,431 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Since he's been prone to injury the past couple of years, the Colts should be able to sign to a veteran-minimum contract with no guaranteed money.
If he can stay healthy, Sims-Walker will give Luck and the Colts a tall, athletic target that will complement their current stable of receivers.
