English Premier League Form Table: Ranking All 20 Teams
Another week of English Premier League football, another reason for Liverpool and Tottenham supporters to shield their eyes.
Liverpool and Spurs stumbled again this past week, and their continued struggles are reflected in this week's form table.
A word about methodology: To compile this form table, I've used each team's last eight league results.
Here is a handy guide to the terms I've used.
W: Home win
L: Home loss
w: Away win
l: Away loss

20. Wolverhampton Wanderers
1 of 20Form: LdLlLlLL
Form Points: 1
Goal Differential: -15
League Position: 20
Comments: Wolves' relegation was confirmed after Sunday's loss to Manchester City. It's possible they won't claim another point this season.
19. Tottenham Hotspur
2 of 20Form: lLdWdDlL
Form Points: 6
Goal Differential: -3
League Position: 5
Comments: Spurs had best snap out of their funk soon—before fourth place is out of sight.
Do you think they will?
18. Aston Villa
3 of 20Form: DlDdLlWd
Form Points: 7
Goal Differential: -8
League Position: 15
Comments: If the season lasted a month longer, Aston Villa would be relegated.
17. Liverpool
4 of 20Form: LwDlLlWl
Form Points: 7
Goal Differential: -2
League Position: 8
Comments: Liverpool's recent run is nothing short of pitiful. The fans deserve better (and could still get it with an FA Cup final win).
16. Norwich City
5 of 20Form: lLwDlWlD
Form Points: 8
Goal Differential: -7
League Position: 13
Comments: Norwich don't have much to play for at this point in the season. Their form reflects that.
15. Stoke City
6 of 20Form: ldWlDdlW
Form Points: 9
Goal Differential: -4
Goals scored: 6
League Position: 14
Comments: Are Stoke still playing?
14. Blackburn Rovers
7 of 20Form: WlLlLlWw
Form Points: 9
Goal Differential: -4
Goals scored: 9
League Position: 18
Comments: That five-match losing run a while back could prove costly. Rovers must finish strong if they want to stay in the Premier League next season.
13. Bolton Wanderers
8 of 20Form: DlLwWWll
Form Points: 10
Goal Differential: -7
League Position: 19
Comments: For Bolton, 10 points from eight matches is a decent run. But in this relegation fight, it might not be enough.
12. West Bromwich Albion
9 of 20Form: wWlWlLdl
Form Points: 10
Goal Differential: -5
League Position: 10
Comments: West Brom boss Roy Hodgson received a warm ovation from the Anfield crowd over the weekend. Wow.
11. Sunderland
10 of 20Form: dDlDdWlW
Form Points: 10
Goal Differential: -3
League Position: 11
Comments: This team has blown hot and cold all year. Now all they seem able to do is draw matches. Such consistent inconsistency is the hallmark of a mid-table squad.
10. Swansea City
11 of 20Form: dWlLlLwW
Form Points: 10
Goal Differential: -2
League Position: 12
Comments: Swansea have played some good football this season, and yet they're still outside the top half. I'm interested to see what they do next season.
9. Queens Park Rangers
12 of 20Form: WlWlWlWl
Form Points: 12
Goal Differential: 0
League Position: 16
Comments: Look at that. All wins (including over Arsenal and Spurs) at home. All losses away. That's one way to avoid relegation, I suppose.
8. Chelsea
13 of 20Form: ddWwDlWl
Form Points: 12
Goal Differential: 2
League Position: 6
Comments: Chelsea haven't lost in forever. Problem is, they haven't won in the league lately either. Fourth place is still possible, but the Blues must start winning some matches.
7. Fulham
14 of 20Form: WDwWlLlW
Form Points: 13
Goal Differential: 5
League Position: 9
Comments: Fulham are quietly a top-half Premiership team. Will that be enough to convince Clint Dempsey to stay?
6. Wigan Athletic
15 of 20Form: lwWlWwDd
Form Points: 14
Goal Differential: 3
League Position: 17
Comments: Way to go, Wigan. You beat Manchester United and Arsenal, then lost to Fulham.
On second thought, that's an understandable loss.
Relegation is still possible, with Wigan three points above the drop zone despite their excellent recent run.
5. Everton
16 of 20Form: dWdWwLlW
Form Points: 14
Goal Differential: 5
League Position: 7
Comments: From every neutral Premier League fan, to every Everton player who helped pull off that stunning draw with Manchester United: Thank you very much.
We now have a real title race because of you.
4. Manchester City
17 of 20Form: wwWlDdWl
Form Points: 14
Goal Differential: 10
League Position: 2
Comments: If not for that deep dip in form a while back (two points from three matches), City could be in pole position atop the Premier League.
3. Arsenal
18 of 20Form: DLwWlWwW
Form Points: 16
Goal Differential: 7
League Position: 3
Comments: Had they won both games last week, Arsenal probably would have sewn up third place. Instead, they have a fight on their hands, with one unexpected challenger surging hard…
2. Newcastle United
19 of 20Form: WWwWwWlD
Form Points: 19
Goal Differential: 11
League Position: 4
Comments: The dark-horse candidates for fourth place? Third place?
Newcastle are on quite a roll right now, having won six straight since that last-second loss to Arsenal.
1. Manchester United
20 of 20Form: DWlWwWwW
Form Points: 19
Goal Differential: 15
League Position: 1
Comments: Even after that stumble on Sunday, Manchester United are the form team in the English Premier League.
Write off Sir Alex Ferguson and his Red Devils at your own risk.
