WWE Extreme Rules 2012: Top 5 Superstars to Watch
At the end of the month, WWE is going to be live in Chicago. On that night, Extreme Rules will be showed on pay-per-view for WWE fans all over the world.
It won't be an ordinary show. This event is going to be a major factor in how the summer of the company will look. While the matches will entertain, there are a few talents worth looking out for.
Who are they? Let's find out!
5. Randy Orton
1 of 5Nothing is official. However, it certainly seems logical to expect one more Randy Orton vs. Kane match. Any added stipulation would be a plus.
Like most, I fully expect Mr. RKO to pick up the victory and end this feud. That is the right way to go, and I am very interested to see where both men go after this.
As I wrote about back in December, Kane returning with his mask was never going to be anything special. It was simply a "nostalgia" act having one final run.
The amount of "fantasy booking" going on around the mask coming back was ridiculous.
Randy Orton, on the other hand, has a very bright future. This man has been injured recently, but it may be time for him to make his next big career move.
Whether that is a World Title match, a brand change, or a character tune-up, Orton is somebody to watch out for after Extreme Rules.
4. Daniel Bryan
2 of 5Sheamus is retaining his title at Extreme Rules. The Celtic Warrior is set for a lengthy run at the top, so he is not the topic of discussion here.
Daniel Bryan, the eventual loser, is certainly an interesting man right now. His relationship with AJ may be the determining factor in his future.
Will they get back together? Are they going to be a fan-friendly couple? What about a change of heart from either person?
Also, how will the "Yes" chants affect Bryan's future? I have no issues with them sticking around, as long as they do not overshadow segments he is not in. When he is on camera, fans can do as they please!
Being in Chicago for Extreme Rules, you know the "too smart" fans will be out in full force ready to go. It is all very intriguing.
3. Chris Jericho
3 of 5CM Punk isn't losing the WWE Championship. Just like Sheamus, Punk is set for a long, long run at the top.
Thus, what does Chris Jericho do after losing to Punk?
Their Chicago street fight is sure to be entertaining. However, the aftermath may be even more interesting. Punk moves on to a new challenger, while Jericho does...
...I don't know.
Take some time off?
Head to Smackdown for awhile?
Beg for one more match again Punk?
Jericho will have a great summer, with or without WWE.
2. John Cena
4 of 5John Cena lost to The Rock a few weeks ago.
On Monday night, he lost to Lord Tensai.
At Extreme Rules, I expect him to lose to Brock Lesnar.
The story has already been laid out, and I love it. Cena has spent years beating his opponents with ease. Now, he may have finally hit a "rough patch."
His road to redemption is underway, and Cena may not have a very successful summer.
He isn't going to leave the main event scene in WWE for another five (or so) years, but I do not expect his arm to be raised very much in the near future.
1. Brock Lesnar
5 of 5Brock Lesnar's last match in WWE was on March 14th, 2004.
It was in a losing effort to Bill Goldberg. Since then, he has done many outside projects. However, he is now back in WWE after eight years.
His first match back will be an Extreme Rules match against the top man in this industry, John Cena. While these two have faced off before in the past, this is certainly a "dream match" for fans.
As we saw the past few weeks on Raw, Lesnar is not a Superstar. He is a war machine, looking to beat people up.
That's it.
With no appearances advertised for May and a very limited schedule in 2012, it is going to be a "must-see" event in Chicago on April 29th with Brock Lesnar.
