Arsene Wenger: A Close Look at Him and the Reported Rumours About His Departure
A huge number of Arsenal fans may be calling for Arsene Wenger’s head at the moment, at least me, and I believe the entire Arsenal community are standing by him.
Arsene Wenger moved into the EPL from the J-league. When he first arrived, there was a lot of controversy going on. After all, what was a J-league manager doing in England? Pretty soon, we all got the answers we were looking for.
Arsene Wenger had asked for the club to sign Partick Viera, along side Remi Garde, even before he took over the reins. In his first match in charge, Arsenal won 2-0. This was a good omen for the coming years.

Anelka, Henry, Adebayor, and Van Persie, along side a lot of other players have had or are having a wonderful time at Arsenal. The man they definitely will want to thank when they look back at their careers will be Arsene Wenger.
This man even stood by Tony Adams who admitted to alcoholism, thus helping his rehabilitation. Wenger had changed the diet of the players upon his arrival at Arsenal, changing the “junk food and drinking culture.”
Arsene Wenger has reportedly received an offer from Real Madrid. I cannot guarantee whether this is a rumour or the truth. However, what will happen to Arsenal if Arsene leaves?
Strengths: Arsenal Wenger is a tactical genius. He enjoys playing a 4-4-2 formation but also uses a 4-5-1 at times. He dislikes boring and unattractive football and encourages attacking and fast-paced football involving swift passes. His Arsenal squad are popular for their attractive football.
Arsenal, despite their “terrible campaign” (I am being sarcastic) this season have gone the last seven matches or so unbeaten. They have scored countless goals in these matches.
In the win against Portsmouth, an 82nd minute Gallas header denied Tony Adams and Pompey. Against Bolton, another goal after the 80th minute from Nicklas Bendtner won Arsenal the game. Pretty much the same happened against Hull City, except the fact that Arsenal won the match 3-1.
Nicklas Bendtner has been criticized heavily but Arsene has stood by him, after all he stands by most of his players. The young player won us our last two matches and a Champions League tie against Kiev.
Wenger is one of the few managers to have made a profit out of his purchases. He bought Nicholas Anelka with a mere £500,000 fee and sold him for more than £20 million to Real. He used the money to buy three players, Wiltord, Henry, and Pires who were all major parts of the team who won the double in 2001-'02 and the league title in 2003-'04.
Wenger stands by what he says. He has been fined by the FA quite a few times but has never changed his opinion. Also, to him loyalty matters most. Despite receiving an offer from Bayern, he stayed with Monaco, even though he got fired the following season for a poor start to the campaign.
Wenger has earned the trust of the fans, After all “Arsene knows best.” He is also known for not purchasing superstars and building players gradually.
Weaknesses: Arsene Wenger relies heavily on a young squad with very little experience led by a 21-year-old! Wenger does not want to buy a single star who can lead his team. He has somewhat been pushed by fans and injuries to purchase Arshavin.
He makes a few “political” decisions which are questionable. I remember reading somewhere that Wenger had made Henry captain just as Barcelona had sent offers for him, in other words he had made Henry captain just to keep him in the club.
The same can be said of Fabregas...but only to a certain extent, as the player himself has stated that he won’t be leaving Arsenal till his contract expires.
Sometimes, Wenger can go too far while criticizing the opposition. He had labeled Van Nistelrooy a cheat and had called a referee a liar. This season he accused Stoke of being too physical. Probably Stoke was physical, but sometimes, you have to deal with it.
Being part of the EPL the club has very few English players. Wenger has the right to purchase whoever he wants but English fans might disagree.
Arsene Wenger, I hope will not leave. Yet, if he does, these may be the consequences.
Negatives: Arsenal will lose their long-time dedicated manager and will slump in the league, along with Champions League, FA, and Carling Cups. They will be unable to adjust to another manager, especially the young players (e.g. 90 percent of the players) and they might even lose their loyalty towards the club.
High-profile players like Cesc, Van Persie, and Adebayor might quit the club, alongside Toure and the rest and join other clubs. In other words, Arsenal will be finished and might end up like Spurs, fighting relegation. (I apologise to all Spurs fans who might take this comment badly.)
Even a manager like Harry Redknapp or Dick Advocaat will be unable to revive them.
Positives: I just can’t see any. If anybody is going to get us back to the top four, it’s Arsene. I just can’t imagine Arsenal without Arsene Wenger.
I see Arsene taking over at Real as merely a rumour. Arsene Wenger is one out of a million who is not tempted by money. To him loyalty matters most and he won’t leave the club he loved and the players he made just because of money!
Wenger hasn’t earned the fans’ trust for nothing and it will take a lot more than money to prize our wonderful manager away from the club. At the end of the day, “In Arsene we trust!”
