2012 NFL Draft: What the Jacksonville Jaguars Can Expect -- Recent Draft History
Over the last few days, I've be looking at the picks the teams in the AFC South have and comparing them to the players taken at that slot in recent years.
Too often, fans have unrealistic expectations of what draft picks turn out to be.
I expect the list of players selected at each spot to be a sobering wake-up call to the kind of talent each team can actually expect to add.

The seventh pick has been a bit of a no man's land in the first round, much as it is this year. It's interesting that the best seventh pick in some time is Adrian Peterson, especially given what I think is the worst case scenario for the Jaguars. The second round has yielded decent talent, but only Zach Miller has been to a Pro Bowl.
This draft probably won't be a quick fix for the Jags. A trade back out of the seventh spot will likely not lead to a huge talent drop off as long they can move back only a few picks. In the later rounds, they can hope to find a role player or two, but the odds of getting major contributions late in the draft are slim.
