College Football Recruiting: 10 Prospects That Are Physical Marvels
Freaks. Specimens. Marvels. Whatever you call them, they come pretty rare in some instances. However, the players on this list fit the bill.
I'm talking about size, physiques, frames and statures for their positions. A big running back, a tall corner, an over-sized offensive lineman and so forth.
For this read, I'm going to give you 10 prospects that are sheer and remarkable physical marvels in the 2013 class.
10. Logan Tuley-Tillman, OT
1 of 106'7" and over 300 pounds, Tuley-Tillman is a big boy. A vey big one. Yet he can move very well for his size and has a good amount of toughness.
Look for him to play either OT or OG at Michigan in a few years.
9. Hunter Henry, TE
2 of 10Henry is a big TE that goes 6'6", 240 pounds. He shows a thick frame that will probably top out in nearly the 255-260 range in college.
Henry also shows elite hands, a large catch radius and will more than just a one dimensional seam player in college.
8. Marquez North, WR
3 of 10Imagine being a corner and seeing a 6'3", 210 pound receiver break the huddle and line up on your side. You'd be a bit nervous, right?
Yes, you would be.
North is that size plus he's extremely fast and athletic. He's a physical marvel because receivers are not supposed to have that kind of frame with that kind of deep speed.
7. O.J. Howard, TE
4 of 10Howard is an athletic marvel as well as a physical one. There's nothing he can't athletically do on a 6'5", 225 pound frame.
Whether you think he can play TE, DE or OLB, Howard can and will be a stand out at it. He looks think, but he's thicker than you think and is a specimen.
6. Cam Burrows, DB
5 of 10Imagine being a wide receiver and breaking the huddle only to see a 6'2", 200 pound cover corner walk up on you at the line. You'd be scared again, right?
Uh, yes, you would be.
Burrows has the length and size to marvel at for a cornerback, but also has the cover skills and deep speed to play the position. It's impressive as any DB at that size usually is a safety.
5. Derrick Grffin, WR
6 of 10Griffin is a 6'6", 215 pound monster on the edges. He's very athletic and his size is intimidating.
He'll high point a ball in the air, has length to stay clean vs. press coverage and deceptive speed. Yet his physical stature is the marvel and allure that has you watch him play after play.
A 6'6", WR? I'll take that.
4. Ty Isaac, RB
7 of 10Isaac is a 6'3", 220 pound running back. He doesn't run that size, but seeing a back that size with that speed is neat to see.
Isaac has excellent speed, elusiveness and hands. Someone that big, playing RB is supposed to be a power, straightline guy.
Isaac isn't that by any means.
3. Ricky Seals-Jones, WR
8 of 106'5", 220 pounds, RSJ is a match up problem. He plays QB for his high school team,. but he towers over people and is more athletic than almost everyone else on the field.
His length, height, size, frame and thickness are mind boggling. Yet, Seals-Jones continues to grow and could weigh 250 pounds easily before he leaves Texas.
2. Robert Nkemdiche, DL
9 of 106'5", 270 pounds, Nkemdiche's frame makes him look like an NFL player right now. He's chiseled, big, cut, strong and looks the part.
And he plays it too, and then some.
The nation's top prospect is a sheer physical marvel as he just overwhelms people on the field with strength, power, speed, quickness and athleticism.
1. Derrick Henry, RB
10 of 10Look at that picture. That's a running back folks!
Henry goes in the 6'3", 240 pound range and is a big, big back. He's very fast for his size and has been very productive.
He's the top physical marvel in the country for me, because you're not supposed to be 6'3" 20 pounds, be a running back and be able to some of the things Henry does with the ball.
