College Basketball Recruiting: When Will Robert Upshaw Make His Commitment?
The college basketball recruiting scene has really quieted down since Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad have announced where they're going to school. But while those may have been the biggest names in the 2012 class, they're not the only players who can make a huge difference for a basketball team.
Center Robert Upshaw is one of the top uncommitted players left on the board, and he could instantly impact a team and become a missing piece for an NCAA tournament run. He's a 4-star recruit, who stands at 6'11", 240 pounds and is an absolute force in the paint. He has great hands, rebounds everything in sight with his massive size and is a solid shot blocker.

This past season for San Joaquin Memorial High School, he averaged over 18 points, 11 rebounds and nearly five blocks a game. He originally committed to Kansas State, but once head coach Frank Martin left for South Carolina, Upshaw backed out as well and opened the recruiting process right back up.
Now the question is, when will we hear a decision on where he will play basketball this upcoming season?
Upshaw just recently returned home from Paris after playing in an international tournament. And according to his mother, he's expected to make a decision later Sunday around 3 p.m., although the school he will pick has not been discussed.
"Only Robert knows," said his mother via fresnobee.com "I don't even know, and my stomach is upset. I'm nervous."
Before Upshaw committed to Kansas State, he was also heavily interested in Louisville and the hometown school Fresno State. It's also important to know that he also has offers on the table from Ohio State, Washington, Oregon, UNLV, Oklahoma State and USC, among others.
Where one of the top centers in this year's class will end up is pretty much a guessing game to everybody involved. But it looks like that game could soon come to an end, and another top recruit will be off the board by the day's end.
